I come from a place where people worked hard to fix something that was broken, a place where others would help them fix that broken thing, borrowing and sharing tools, services, and a helpful hand. Nowadays, it is not like that.
Marriages don´t last, relationships are just something to learn from but never to work on, and so are friendships. Yes, humans are always looking for the best new things, something exciting that we haven´t experienced before. It´s just our nature..
I´ve asked many people throughout my life what they think about monogamy, or how they think it should be. Of course many people believe in it, but many people do believe that you can love someone but still want other people.
Monogamy, derived from the Greek, and actually has many different meanings, the only one that involves a truly monogamous relationship, refers to marriage. However, when we look back in time, marriages usually involved way more then just two people. It does not come naturally like Swans, it is something learned, something we are taught we are supposed to feel.
Most people have a lot of love to give. Almost everyone loves more than one person, just in different ways. But, what makes people think you shouldn´t be able to love two people in the same way? (regarding a relationship).
The thing that I fight with myself about, is the virtue that a relationship, or a marriage, is a choice and a sacrifice. I believe that your heart chooses people, but it´s your choice to be with them.
Yes, some relationships are not meant to be fought for. Some are to teach you things for the next one, or to teach you about yourself, but how do you tell the difference? Are we supposed to just feel it?
The problem is, we are now taught that if something is broken, youcan easily get a new one instead of fixing it. It is kind of sad, where is the world without hard work? So many opportunities missed.
So when something is broken, do you fix it? Or do you just let it go and get a new one?
