Chapter 5; Suspicious behavior

There was a rumor going around about my mother's death a couple of months after she had passed away. I was only in 6th grade and I was already behind and stressed out about school I never felt like I could get anything done right. When I got home, my oldest sister Trisha was there because she was waiting for my brother and me to pack and leave. It had been a few months and I was living in Michigan and that's when it had started. I talked to my sister Sarah and she told me there were suspicious things on our mother's biopsy report. It had been stated that different levels of the body were abnormal. Although she had COVID-19 the biopsy had shown her sugar levels are abnormally high.

Me and my mother had not been eating and had barely been drinking so there should have been no reason her sugar levels were high. They had closed the case down but I was always suspicious. We had still thought there was a possibility of someone doing something to her. We had suspicions that it could have been Mason because he was the one who was taking care of her when she was sick. We never found anything out and I still question myself to this day. Was she murdered or was she just sick? Either way, I want to know because it's hard to move on without knowing.

A couple of years had passed and I was still wondering about what had happened. Well since it had been a while I had given up but then it happened. My Aunt got a phone call and it was my sister hysterically crying and and rushed over to her. The next day my aunt came back and said my sister Trisha's 2nd baby's dad had died. I was so confused, I had hated that man but she kept running back to him so it never mattered what I thought of him. She had called the police and explained she wasn't home she took the kids to the beach. They started looking into her and came up with a case. It had gotten to the point where she needed a lawyer.

They had accused her that her other friend she went with when she took the kids had killed him. She said she would never kill someone but she had told me plenty of times she wanted him to die. She even said she was waiting for him to die because he was an alcoholic and so was his father and his father died of it. So it was a suspicion that she had killed him one in our family had believed it could happen but I had heard her say multiple times that she wanted him to die. They found out that he had fallen down the stairs and broken his neck and that was how he died. The police questioned because of how he landed if it was on accident. The case was dropped a while after but I always have it in my mind that she had done it and it will never change. Soon after he died she got with her first baby's father and moved in with him. Meanwhile, he was in prison and didn't have a place to live or any money but she said she loved him. A Few months later he had proposed and she said yes which I didn't understand because her ex just died. Well, nothing had changed she still plans to get married. After a few months, we didn't like the idea of him being around the kids but we couldn't do anything about it and then we started seeing things. The kids would come over and have bruises all on their bodies and none of them would say how they got them. I was close to Braxton so I asked him what had happened and he said his dad hits him and lets the other kids hit him all the time. I was so furious I couldn't believe what had happened. A baby that was like my own was getting hurt by his mother that didn't even deserve that title. I thought that was the worst and then he told me his mom threw a book at his sister's face which I didn't believe at first and then I looked. This baby girl had a scratch and bruise on her face. I asked myself plenty of times how much worse can this get because she's not that cruel, is she? Well as their aunt I picked up the responsibility of asking the kids questions because I'm the one they talk to most and I knew they would talk to me. I asked the youngest if his mommy ever hit him and he said yes. I said where and w, and he told me "I don't know i asked for a snack and mommy yelled and pushed me then tried to smack me".I was beyond pissed how could she feel for those kids every day I don't know how she could let that happen. To his day she has the kids but for as long as I'm here I will never stop trying to get them back because I know living with her is torture and she can be mean and aggressive at times. Although the kids aren't with me never means they will never be it just means I need more time.
