It was a dark and stormy night, and Emily was driving home alone from a late shift at work. She was used to the eerie silence of the empty road, but tonight was different. Tonight, something felt off.

As she drove, she noticed a figure in the distance, standing in the middle of the road. As she got closer, she realized it was a woman, dressed in tattered clothing and soaked from head to toe. Emily slowed down and rolled down her window.

"Are you okay?" Emily asked the woman.

The woman didn't respond. Instead, she stepped closer to the car, and Emily could see that her eyes were completely black. Emily's heart started racing, and she quickly rolled up her window and sped away.

But as she drove, Emily realized that the woman was now standing in the middle of the road behind her, somehow faster than humanly possible. Emily swerved to avoid hitting her, but when she looked back in her rearview mirror, the woman was gone.

Emily's heart was pounding as she pulled into her driveway. She tried to calm herself down, telling herself it was just her imagination. But as she stepped out of the car, she heard a whisper behind her.

"Emily."

She turned around, but there was no one there. Emily quickly ran inside and locked the door behind her, trying to shake the feeling that she was being watched.

But the whispering continued throughout the night, and Emily couldn't shake the feeling that the woman was still out there, waiting for her. The next morning, Emily discovered a message written in blood on her bathroom mirror: "I'm still here."

Emily never saw the woman again, but she could feel her presence every time she was alone in the house. She eventually moved away, but the memory of that night stayed with her
forever, a constant reminder that there are some things in this world that we can never explain or escape.
