Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the prettiest of them all? She was. She is. She always will be. Most people knew that, understood that, but a few didn't. The people closest to her found her to be different in a couple of ways, but him? He saw her differently in every kind of way. He had the opportunity to talk to her every day, he had the opportunity to see her smile every single day and that was the most he ever wanted. All he wanted, all he needed, was to keep her smiling. All he needed to see was that breathtaking smile of hers that he could not handle, he wanted to keep her happy, he wanted to do that and did not let anyone stand the chance to do so before he did. He managed to put a smile on her face the second she would wake up in the morning no matter what time it would be, continuously trying to keep that beautiful smile on her face throughout the day, and making her smile before she falls asleep. She was different, he was sure she was. He did not know what it was that made her unique, what was it inside of her that was so pure? What was it inside of her that dragged him towards her? What was it that helped him mentally and emotionally? She looked like a regular girl, nothing special honestly. She had light brown shoulder length hair, her eyes were something else. They were the most attractive feature about her, she had not so big eyes yet not so small, they were regular but they were shaped so uniquely. So unique he never saw anyone with such beautiful eyes before, they were shaped just as if she had deer
like eyes and that was enough to get him lost in them whenever she spoke to him. Deer like eyes, they weren't colored but he saw them to be more beautiful than if they were colored. He described them as honey filled eyes with amber surroundings, he was never able to describe them or the shade they were in. She would call them light brown, something so ordinary but they honestly were not in his eyes. He was always confused about the way he felt, he did not know how he truly felt towards her, he did not know if he wanted her as a friend or as a lover. What about a best friend? What about just keeping her close? Maybe having her as a lover would've caused him to lose her. He did not want to stand that chance, he couldn't even tell her how he felt towards her which was the most difficult thing he had to keep to himself. He told her everything, they shared everything, all sorts of things, and all sorts of information, from what they ate for lunch to the most private things that they only trusted one another about. She did not show him how she felt, how she truly felt. She always had the biggest smile on her face, always socializing with everyone, she loved helping others and making them feel better and that was what was so special about her. Her personality, she was as bright as a star even during her worst times, she was rarely in a bad mood and even when she was, he knew she would be okay. She would always put a smile back on her face, and move on no matter what the situation was. He admired that about her, he admired her confidence,
he admired everything about her, her personality, her features, name it and he would tell you that he loves it. There wasn't anything he disliked in her, about her, or anything he wanted her to change about herself. He liked her with her flaws, he loved her flaws because that was what completed her and it was what made her perfect. His friends did not really get it, they found it weird and unusual of him to be so caught up in someone who did not feel the same way or did not want him in a loving way. That is what he thought at least, and maybe he was right. He was never able to tell, and he was too afraid to speak to any of her friends about it. If his own friends were messing around with him, what would her friends do? He was so sure they would immediately tell her about it which was not what he needed. She believed in bigger things, knowing that love wasn't everything. After getting hurt because of love she knew that was true, she knew there were bigger things in life than love and not everything revolved around love and around your partner or someone who you had feelings towards to. Life moves on and maybe she wasn't sure if she wanted to go through it alone, but she was afraid of getting hurt and so she avoided such situations but he was willing to go through every step with her, he wanted to. That's why they were the closest two friends out there, although he could not tell her how he felt about her, he kept her close to him. He kept her beside him throughout everything, taking care of her, nurturing her and always kept her happy. He
did everything he could, and he was never willing to lose her, to let her slip between his fingers and leave. He was never going to let her just walk away because of any sort of reason, so even when he tried his best, he always wanted better and better because he wanted to show her how much of a good person he was. A good "friend." They were friends but lovers in some ways that could not be described, but they both knew it deep down. He thought about it constantly, about telling her, what if it made things better? But then what if it made things worse? She meant the world to him, and usually people would say "go for it, you never know if you don't risk it." "You might regret not saying anything." "What if you had the chance but she was not sure about how you felt/feel so she went for someone else?" But it was different with him, he wasn't able to look at it from that point of view, he couldn't. Even if there was a 0.1% chance that things could chance after he tells her how he feels towards her, he wasn't going to put that 0.1% chance out there. Why? Because she was his everything, his life, and she did not even know it. He did mean a lot to her, she was always there for him as much as he was there for her, and she always appreciated and respected him. She never let him down, and even when she upset him, she would always apologize before it got too late no matter what the argument is about or no matter what the situation is. It was quiet obvious he liked her, but because they were close for so long
and he never admitted it, she never really knew if her thoughts were right or if she was just overthinking the situation. She never wanted to bring it up because if she was wrong, it would have been the most embarrassing situation to have her in. His actions were pretty clear for anyone to see, but he did try covering up for himself. He watched her closely, every move she would make, and everything was breathtaking and beautiful in his eyes. They went through countless situations together, always helping one another except that they have also changed each other for the better. He taught her how to be positive, she helped him get better through his worst times and they both helped heal one another together and that was the greatest thing in their friendship, they did everything together. Months passed by, and nothing ever changed, they were known to be the two closest people in their area and everyone wanted a friendship like theirs. As time passes by, his feelings towards her were more and more obvious, she began to doubt their so called friendship. She felt like something was going to come her way, she was not sure what it was but pushed it away because she did not want to overthink it and thought it was nothing until one day, they were alone and he said it. He couldn't handle looking into her eyes for another day without letting her know, he couldn't handle seeing her beautiful smile without letting her know how gorgeous she was, without letting her know how much that smile meant to him. How it meant absolutely everything to him to be around her, just her presence was enough and they didn't have to speak. Just her being in the same room as
he was, was everything to him. Maybe she wasn't going to accept that, maybe she was. But he knew he was going to put in his all and not get upset even if she had refused his words, he was still willing to make her the happiest girl. He wanted to put her out there, he wanted her smile to be on the cover sheet of a magazine from how breathtaking it was. He finally said it, he felt countless feelings at once. He was afraid, shocked, happily but most importantly relieved. He was glad he said it, he did have a percentage of regret but he was extremely relieved to get it off of his chest.

"I love you." He told her fearfully.
