Involute

Brett waved and opened up his UI and we were sent to a garden. I couldn't concentrate on my surroundings, just Brett gently rubbing my head. The pain began to subside and I sighed, relieved.

Crits It's starting to fade?But I don't understand what's going on.

Brett I've only seen something like this happen to the people Blipping.

Crits I did the entire tracing of my body. I shouldn't be Blipping like the others.

Brett I haven't seen you Blip yet, just the pain shocks that they get.

Crits Is there a doctor or someone to see? Is there someone I can talk to about this?

Brett We don't really have doctors here? Not officially at least. Most everything is automated. Any unique problems are outsourced to the Utopia service commission. There's a way to message them in your UI but there's no telling how long it'll take for them to get back to you.

Crits So that's it? No Involute programmers here that can patch me?

Brett Most Involutes don't have access to a person's fleshware. Only admins and people outside Ever-life with access can help you. Based on the response to the Blips it could be a while.

Crits Fleshware... God I hate that term. I think I'd like to be left alone for a little while.

Brett turned his eyes downward, the corner of his mouth curled up and he had audible breathing. I think I may have hurt his feelings.

Brett Oh?I understand. I'll try to think of something or someone and let you know.

Crits I appreciate it. Thank you for showing me around a bit. I'll be sure to message you later when I'm feeling better.

Brett Sorry again, I know this must be scary. Try not to isolate too long though.

Crits Thanks, take care Brett.

I opened my UI and found the home button. I was warped back to my New York apartment themed living space. I shuffled over to the bed and laid down. I trembled, thinking of where I was, what was happening. Unsure how to relax, my arms and legs shook. Tears ran down my cheek. I wanted to drift away but I wasn't physically tired.

My UI popped up and a little window asked me if I would like to simulate sleep. I suddenly felt my privacy vanish out of existence, but simultaneously I was relieved. I confirmed I wanted to sleep, and then felt drowsy.
