I never truly understood how strong Mother's Love was until Thursday, April 28th. I was working my regular schedule from 7 am till 7 pm. I dropped my son Landen off at daycare maybe a little past 6;30 am. It's only about 5 minutes away from where I work, which is Pactiv in Covington GA.
It was just about time for my last break when I realized I had received two missed calls from the daycare KC's at 2;28 and 2;29. I then returned the calls around 2;37pm. She said hello to me then I proceeded to ask if everything was ok.
The lady then explained to me there had been an incident with Landen. He was bit by another child. She sounded nervous about telling me this. I asked a couple more questions. Like Did he bite back or was he ok? I didn't think it was that bad at the time until I heard her response, which was that the bite drew blood.
I then went to my team leader at work Teresa and explained the same thing the lady did over the phone. There had been an incident with Landen at the daycare. I clocked out at almost 3pm. 2;50pm would be my guess.
ARRIVING
When I arrived Ms. Angila, The young lady at the desk and a few others were there. I headed to the room where I assumed he would be in room 2. Ms. Angila escorted me out and then explained he was in room 3. I was confused about why he
would be in that room because from what I'm aware of he has never been in that room. While I was looking in the window of room 3 Ms.Angila opened the door. He was standing by himself while the other kids played. The look on his face is a look I will never forget and never want to see again. He's always a happy child. You could see it on his face. He was pissed. I heard someone say he's mad. His eye almost looked like a hickey or a bruise. I picked him up to look at his stomach. My mouth dropped.
I picked him up a little better to walk out of the room to the hallway. His shirt in the back raised a little enough to see part of his lower back. I fell to my knees in the hall. I started crying and pulled Landen close to my chest. The little bit that I had seen looked very recent though the blood looked almost dry. At the time I didn't even want to look any further.
I got up while nobody was looking to comfort me and my son. Soon after though I leave. Before though I looked down the hall to see Kathy's son in complete shock. I tried to leave before I was stopped by Ms. Angila who then told me to her knowledge nobody knew about his back.
It felt like a crowd of people were hovering over me and my son with looks of shock and disbelief. The daycare also took pictures of his back. The nurse then had to fill out a form and talked to me quickly and gave me some instructions on how to care for my child. Ms. Angila then said something along the lines
of 'I will figure out what happened'.I walk out and go straight to work to show them or tell my boss how serious this is. Myboss Teressa was in a meeting at the time. Bridget, who is a Lead on my shift, came out by the Lockers while I was holding landen crying I had showed her his back. She was in shock. She suggested I take him to the hospitial.
I had still not seen his full back at this time.
After leaving work and still setting up Crying, I decided to get Landen and I something to eat. I had a headache and needed to calm down a bit for safty purposes. I called my mother Robin Morgan right after. She was very upset and hung up the phone. At this time I am feeling tired and so was Landen.
He was quiet but I could tell he had a rough day. We didn't sleep long because my parents woke us up.
I showed up at my parents house with Landen because we had got woken up by them knocking on the door. No one is home.
The Full View!!!!
While still waiting on my parent to arrive too meet me at the home i decided to do a quick dipper change on Landen. As i quickly put the dipper on Landen had his shirt off and flipped over like he wanted to play i glazed and everything just Stoped i screamed with my hands scared to touch his back the scratches the marks had still blood that
dried up. You could tell just by every mark the child had a tight grip on his back every chance he or she could take.
The markswere closely together lower and in the middle.
All I could picture is my son being held down by my child laying down trying to get up screaming for his life.
I called my mom around 6;36 crying Mom!!!! I just saw his back. I'm taking him to the hospital. It's bad!!!
I then called the daycare back and said i just saw his back for the first time I am crying they didn't seem too comforting over the phone the lady over the phone stated they are still viewing the cameras to figure out what exactly what happen then hang up
