CHAPTER ONE
I saw Him. He was standing in the middle of the street with a cloak over His head and a long robe over His body. I pointed my gun towards Him slowly moving forward and demanded that He raised up His hands. I thought He was the enemy. There was chaos around the area because of what had occurred. A fire outbreak was caused by some people (bandits) we have been fighting for months. A building was targeted and innocent civilians were at the risk of losing their lives.
Suddenly this man appeared and with a single point of His finger to the building, the fire ceased. No one saw this but I did as clear as day. I couldn't believe my eyes and I thought I was in a trance. I was still resistful and uncertain so I compelled Him to remain where He was standing. I thought to myself that He could be a magician or an illusionist but I thought He was definitely one of them.
The man did not turn His face to look at me. He was looking at the building as people ran out of it and did not stop looking. This was the moment I began to trade emotions within me. I kept wondering why He didn't make a move even at the aggressive sound of my voice and the threats I kept on making. If He was one of them, He should have done something. I wasn't still convinced because I knew I was in a duty that accommodated no second thought otherwise you may not have a third.
I kept telling Him to raise up His hands and turn around. The man raised up His two hands and knelt on the ground. I didn't ask Him to do that. He stared at the skyand I could hear some mumblings from His mouth. I couldn't understand what He was saying but I was very certain it was not a common language. I repeated my order and this time I drew near to Him with boldness but I couldn't move further after few steps. I tried to get close to Him but it seemed as though there was an invisible wall between me and Him. It was the strangest thing I have ever experienced as a soldier.
I became a little frightened and powerless at the same time thinking that the man would attack me but He finally stopped speaking and turned to my direction. Suddenly, my eyes became really dim and I was struggling to see because of the bright light remitting from His face. I couldn't see His face as He was coming closer to me. The closer He came, the weaker I became. I didn't know when I started to weep, not because of fear but for an unknown reason. A rush of emotions overwhelmed me at that point as my weapon fell from my hand to the ground and I knelt down before the man but not by my own free will.
I tried to open my eyes just a little bit to know who stood before me. I only saw His lips as He smiled. He stretched forth His right hand to me and opened His palms wide and I saw my reflection like as His palm was a mirror. Deeper than that, it was as if I saw my life in the palm of His right hand; everything I had done and who I was. My whole life flashed right before me with just a sight of His hand. I became more terrified but I felt calmness at the same time. It's hard to explain. I looked up to see His face but I could not. I still saw Him smiling and I fearfully asked, "Who are you?"
He smiled again and called out my name "JOHN". The way he called my name was as if I was calling it myself. Immediately, He disappeared with a bright light foreshadowing and I slumped to the ground.
