Into the flames

"The inferno roared as I charged fearlessly into its grip, I knew I had to save my family before it was too late. So I charged too enter my home as flames engulfed it, the heat searing my skin and smoke clouding my vision. I began searching for my Grandfather and my sister's rooms, desperately calling out their names, but the crackling of the fire threatened to drown out my voice. I couldn't believe my eyes when I discovered my grandfather coming my way on fire, quickly I walked him through the terrifying gauntlet, shielding him with my body and guiding him to safety, ignoring the searing pain. We reached the front door and exited my home I yelled at my mother and neighbor "put him out now", as I ran back inside to find my sister, determined to bring her out of the flames alive. Just too notice her jumping out of her bedroom window too safety. I watched as she landed on the ground and I rushed to her side, relieved beyond words. As I asked her who is in home , she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, The children are still inside. I knew I had to act quickly, so I dashed back into the yard without a second thought. I reached the back window and broke the window , reaching in to The smoke billowed out, stinging my eyes as I called out to the children. One by one, I pulled the children out of the smoke-filled room and guided them to safety, away from the engulfing flames. As I waited by the window subconsciously I knew that my best friend Albert Madrid was inside, he arrived on scene at the same moment that I discovered, my nieces
Ariana and Ariel, ages 2 & 6, were the last ones in the home. My memory of my best friend was gone from the moment I discovered my nieces were still inside, explosions we're going off inside so nearby bystanders made me leave my property, I left nearby too my best friends grandmother's home and rested for the next hours The whole night was a blur, thoughts of my missing friend Albert and the safety of my nieces enveloped my mind. I woke up too my best friend's girlfriend and mother asking for help finding Albert only too find out that he had gone into the house to save the children. He gotten trapped by the front door and died from smoke inhalation according to the report . The shock hit me like a freight train, and grief washed over me as I struggled to make sense of the loss. Two weeks later my grandfather also passed away from the burns and I found myself grappling with the weight of two immense losses. And my home destroyed to the ground . With nothing left and the heaviness of grief weighing upon my heart, I felt the overwhelming desire to honor the memory of my friend and my grandfather Benjamin Silva. It was a deep longing to carry on their legacy, to ensure that their bravery and love would never be forgotten.
