Tick.. tock.. tick.. tock.. tick.. tock... The quaint but sturdy grandfather clock at Kevin's house ticked on. Kevin was in bed, tired after a long day of philosophy lectures. He was thinking about a crazy dream he had last night. But all he could remember were some hazy scenes. Kevin kept murmurring, "Orange, blue, green, yellow..." His eyes closed to the sound of the ticking clock. The clock had only five more minutes to tick tock, until it could chime ding! dong! Tick... tock...Kevin slowly descended into a world of madness.

The sun shined bright in the sky and Kevin was enjoying a nice picnic in the park with his friends. The birds chirping, children running around playing tag, mothers chatting, lovers walking joyfully holding thier hands- it was a really pleasant morning. Kevin looked up directly towards the sun, squinting his eyes and admiring its rays. But slowly the sun started to get bigger and bigger and redder and redder. Panic arose in the park; screams pierced the atmosphere. Everyone including Kevin started running. The sun had transformed into a meteor and was falling fast. Somehow Kevin made it quite far. The meteor crashed, and the shockwave, more feirce than the winds of a towering tornado, blew everything away. Kevin too was blown away through the skies but landed safely on top of a tall building. He gazed at the view below. The land was dressed in bright orange magma and the skies were pitch black, with lightning streaks travelling through the skies like snakes.

From afar, in an instant, the ocean rose and a huge tsunami, shining like sapphire came rushing in his direction, extinguishing the flames of the magma on its way. Kevin held on to a rod next to him and braced for impact. The waves trampled
over the building and Kevin was in free fall. He looked down and saw a sewer pipe jutting out of the ground. As he fell through it, the stinky sewage water sloshed all over him. It was dark, but he saw light at the end of the tunnel. With a bright flash of light he slid out of a slide from the waterpark of his city. He hastily looked around and spotted her ex girlfriend, Camilla. Camillia smiled and waved at him. Kevin, was appalled as he remembered that this was the very day that Kevin had broken up with her later that night, after a pitiful revelation. He got out of the water and headed towards her. " Are you done having fun silly? C'mon let's get going. We've already spent 2 hours here" Camilla said. They both went to the changing rooms to get dried and change. In the men's changing room Kevin was having an excruciating ache in his heart. He grasped his chest and shut his eyes. The pain of the past or perhaps the future was like having his heart puncturerd by a thousand red hot needles that were baked in the core of the sun.

When he opened his eyes, the world had gone dark. The entire waterpark was filled with fog. With only the moonlight to guide him, he exited the changing room calling out, " Camilla! Camilla! Where are you? I'm sorry!" He slowly stepped into the woman's changing room and saw Camilla, her face turned towards the wall. She was holding herself, shaking and sobbing . "Camilla..." said Kevin softly. "Cheater!!" screamed Camilla turning her head like an owl. Her face was grey, her eyes green, broken teeth and a scar across her face. Kevin freaked out and bolted out of
the room. But to his dismay the entire area was infested with zombies, groaning and grunting, oozing green goo from their half open heads . He screamed and ran and ran and ran all the way back home.

He slammed the door shut and fell on his knees gasping for air. His parents and his younger sister rushed towards him. "What's wrong son? Why are you so freaked out? And where have you been?" asked Mr.Henderson, his dad. Kevin was shocked to find himself inside the house he grew up as a kid. Kevin's mom hugged Kevin and rubbed his back. "It's all okay Kev, you're safe here. Your family's here to protect you" said Kevin's mom in a soothing voice. She took Kevin back to his room. "Get some good rest Kev. I'll make some mushroom soup for you to have when you wake up. Your favourite!" Kevin's mom said joyously. Kevin's heartbeat slowed down. He calmed down and tucked himself in his bed. His mom was on her knees beside him. She kissed Kevin on the forehead and graciously smiled at him. Kevin gazed at his mom's face. Her face was faintly glowing in a soothing yellow colour from the light hitting her face, her radiant smile shattered the needles in his heart and filled it with warmth and joy. With his family, he felt.. so happy, so peaceful, so safe. His broken soul, mended. Slowly, he closed his eyes. The sight of his mom becoming blurry, until he shut them completely.

The scent of Kevin's favourite mushroom soup snuck up his nose and held a festival in his brain. With delight, Kevin opened his eyes. But to his horror, he found himself in a dark dilapidated shack, with a single flickering yellow light bulb hanging from the ceiling.
The bulb kept swinging like pendulum. When it swung away from him, illuminating the corner of the room, he saw a mysterious figure. Kevin, eventhough afraid, looked very closely. The light shone on the figure's face. A sinisterly smiling fat clown, with razor sharp teeth, a small glowing red ball for a nose and a long blade for its right hand is what he saw. The clown slowly approached Kevin, it's facial expression changing with every step. Once grinning, then shocked, then angry, then scared, then sad. Kevin was backed against the wall by his bed. The clown let out a harrowing laugh and said, "Remember me? Hahahaha! We've met 42 times before! Hahaha!" with a cracked and gnarly voice. Like a lightning strike, the clown pierced Kevin's heart with it's blade.

In an instant, Kevin woke up, breathing heavily, sweat dripping from every inch of his body and clutching his chest which felt like it was about to tear apart from the pounding of his heart. Kevin was confused, scared and also relieved that the nightmare was over. He let out a deep breath and calmed himself down. "Sigh... what was all that... aaa...my head hurts..." thought Kevin. Ding! dong! ding! dong! chimed the grandfather clock at twelve. The sound echoed throughout the house. The sound rung in Kevin's head and he fell unconscious in a daze, the sound still reverberating in his head.

Kevin opened his eyes with a sound of a bell ringing. It was the church bell near his university which rang every evening at six. He was sitting on his bench and bent over lying on his table in his philosophy lecture hall. Everyone was leaving, as the lectures had finished. His phiposophy professor Mr.Harc Lowneski, approached Kevin and asked, "Feeling drowsy Mr.Henderson? You've
slept through my lecture again. I couldn't have woken you up in all my life!" Professor, I'm sorry... I was in this crazy nightmare. It was terrifying... I feel hazy in my head" said Kevin with a trembling voice. " Huuh? you 'WERE' in a dream? Are you sure about that boy?" Kevin looked at him with his teeth clenched and terrified gaping eyes. He silently, but hurriedly got up and walked out of the hall. As Kevin was leaving, he turned his head around to look at his professor once more. Mr. Lowneski stood right where he was fiddling with a small glowing red ball. The ball caught Kevin's eye. Kevin stared at the ball with despair. His heart sunk and his brain rattled in confusion. Kevin turned his head back around, and slowly walked back home, after a tiring day of philosophy lectures... Tick...Tock..
