"She is failing fast. There is nothing left we can do for her," Commented Dr. John Shinlin.

"There's an experimental clinic in Densil Town. I understand they have been testing a new procedure which helps to stimulate the brain of comatose patients." affirms Specialist Dr. Armid Audull. "A Dr. Kylie Stimson oversees the facility and has performed the procedure on three monkeys. Two with promising results, the other monkey died due to complications."

"Yes, but It's never been tested on humans before. It's a very risky procedure using a newly deceased body's cells. It is strongly rejected by the medical community," claims Dr. Shilin.

"What do we have to lose, she doesn't have any family and she is dying anyway, if not dead all ready," comments Dr. Armid.

"NO, NO, NO, don't do that to me! I can hear you, please stop talking that way. Look at me. I'm here! Please, if I am not dead, just let me die!"

I am screaming these words in my head. But, only I can hear them. For two years I have been in a coma. Struck down by a hit and run driver. Crossed over to coma land and never returned. I just want to die. Please just let me die.

"I'll phone Stimson and tell her we are on our way down with a comatose patient. And have her get things set up for the Intercraniel Assist Procedure. We should arrive around eleven. Everyone will be gone by then." states Dr. Audull.

"Armid, I don't think it is a wise idea. Medical personnel frowns on this procedure. There hasn't been enough testing with positive results. We will not get an ok from anyone to do this method. We must follow protocol." says Dr. Shinlin.

"No one else needs to know. It'll be between the three of us. If all
goes well, we will announce our findings. If not, there is no loss and we take her to the county morgue along with the other dead body and dispose of them." remarks Armid.

"I don't like it Armid." says John.

"We've been performing questionable procedures for six years now John. We have not lost a patient yet! And we will be assisting Dr. Stimson. She is well known and well liked for her outstanding work in the field of brain development in semi/comatose patients. I agree she does have some off the wall procedures which are questionable in the medical field, but they work. I have a good feeling about this. Work with me here, will ya?"

"But, what we are asking her to do is presumed unethical," John replies.

Before John could comment any further Armid grabs the phone, and dials directly into Dr. Kylie Stimson's office.

"Hi Dr. Stimson, this is Dr. Armid Audull over at Mid Medical, Dr. Shinlin and I have a patient we would like to perform he Intetrcraniel Assist Procedure on. She's a good candidate. She's been in a coma for two years. EEG shows minimal brain activity. We had early signs of her being in a persistent vegetative state, then she went into a deep semi comatose state. Now she is in a complete coma. But, I believe with her previous symptoms and diagnosis we have a strong chance of reversing the activity in her brain. We need to rechannel her brain waves, give them a new pathway. We have the capability to re-wire her total brain. With the cells from your 'subject', I have a strong feeling the procedure can help her."

There's a brief hesitation. "Fantastic Dr. Stimson, we'll place her in the van and head right over. Our arrival time is twenty minutes. Sure, Dr. Shinlin
and I will bring her through the back entrance. Will the 'subject' be in place or do you need help with that? Ok, that'll be fine. See you in a few."

"Everything will be ready for us when we arrive". Armid says. "The 'subject' will be on the gurney and ready to begin the procedure."

"Bad idea" John mumbles to himself as he helps Armid lay the patient in the van.

"No, No, No. Stop! I just want to die! I don't want to be your guinea pig! Can't you hear me? Stop!" Let me go!!! Take me back".

On arrival at the clinic, everything is dark and quiet. The parking lot is empty. Only one dim light shines above the two double doors. We lead the patient down the hall towards room 113, where Dr. Kylie Stimson would be waiting for us. We push the gurney through the door. The room is mysteriously dark.

I can hear beeping, buzzing, and howling sounds coming from machines. The sounds are so eery, they frighten me. I try to scream, I can't. I try to move, I can't.

I hear voices. Three of them. One woman, two men. They are talking about a blood transfusion, hooking me up to machines that will monitor my brain waves, injecting cells from somewhere (I don't know) into my cranium to stimulate my brain. Then I hear them say "bring in the body" (body, what body!!!!). What is going on?

"John get the lights. Hook up the monitors. Hang the bags for the transfusion." says Armid.

Dr. Kylie Stimson walks into the room. She says. "Good evening Doctors."

Simultaneously we reply, "Good evening Dr. Stimson."

Dr. Stimson replies, "Let's be on first-name basis for this procedure tonight."

The two doctors nod in unison.

"The subject is ready for the transfusion. Is your patient ready?" questions Dr. Stimson.

"Yes," Armid
announces.

"Good. Once the transfusion is complete we will begin the Intercraniel Assist Procedure. All brain cells must be removed from your patient and replaced with all cells from our 'subject'. This is a very difficult procedure. Anything can go wrong at any time. We must be alert. Your patient must be completely drained and fully transfused with the new blood from our 'subject' before we begin the IAP. If we are successful, she will have a complete recovery.

"We are all prep and ready to begin," says Dr. John.

"Well then, let's get this show started," Dr. Kylie implies.

"Time on the clock 12:10 A.M. This should take about an hour if all goes well."

"Patient and 'subject' are connected and transfusion has begun," states Dr. John.

Suddenly, I feel something. How can that be? It's not possible! I feel a sensation flowing through my veins. What is that? I feel so different. It feels warm, then cold. Warm again, then cold. Oh, so cold, like ice freezing in my veins. Something feels like it is slithering through my veins. I swear something is moving through them. What is that? Help me!!!!!!!!

"Transfusion is complete." Dr. John says.

"Begin drilling Dr. Armid."

Oh my God No!!!! What is that? The pain, the pain. Such excruciating pain. Stop Stop, whatever you are doing to me, Stop. Oh, my head!!!!! What is wrong!!!!! Why am I feeling this? Is that a drill? It feels like drilling through my head!!! How can I feel this? Stop! Stop! I can't stand it! I want to scream. I am screaming. Why can't anyone hear me? I scream louder and louder! The pressure, the pain is like nothing I have ever felt before. Such intense unbearable pain. Feels like my head is going to explode!!! STOOOOOOOOP!!!!!! Let me die!!!!!

" Armid, you must drill deeper."

"
When we introduce the new cells, they must reach into every crevis of the brain" claims Dr. Kylie. "Oh, that looks good. You can stop drilling now Armid."

Dr. Stimson steps away to check the monitors. "Good, she says, everything looks good. All reports are as should be."

"Begin the suction, John."

"Armid, when John is finished suctioning out the cells, you will need to scrape along the inside of the brain to get cells that may be attached to the wall."

"All her cells must be removed before we introduce her brain to the new cells. It is extremely vital that cells from the 'subject' and your patient do not intertwine together. This could cause devastating effects."

"Prepare to inject the new cells into our patient. Be sure there is a complete connection between the patient and the 'subject'. There must be a steady flow of the cells without interruption."

"Patient and 'subject' are totally linked. We are ready to begin the disbursement of the new cells." conveys Armid.

Dr. Stimson advances over to a large machine that has tubes connected to the 'subject' and patient. She proceeds in pulling down a green handle which stimulates the flow of the cells out of one body and into the other.

"Fifteen minutes Drs. and the procedure should be complete. Time 12:55 A.M."

"Everything is going as plan. Monitors are reading a positive transfer. Time 1:09 A.M. Almost there."

SUDDENLY, the most agonizing monstrous sounds came from the patient. SCREAMS OF TERROR expelled from her mouth!!! The screeches and shrieks overflowed and engulfed the tings, beeps, and roars of the machines. She/it sprung up quickly. What I saw was inhuman, a ferocious savage beast. Its eyes were not her eyes. They were dark, bulging, and bloody. Eyes that could see right through your soul. Its teeth, my God, were yellow, crooked,
rotten, razor-sharp, fanglike with thick green-purplish saliva dripping from them. A strong foul stench blew from its mouth as it growled and hissed at its creators.

It reached up and grabbed Dr. Armid with one quick swipe, as it screamed, "LOOK AT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME!!!!! LOOK AT WHAT I HAVE BECOME. I TOLD YOU ALL, I WANTED TO BE LEFT ALONE TO DIE!!!! YOU DID NOT LISTEN, NOW YOU MUST ALL DIE!!!!!!! and tossed him in its mouth and began washing its teeth together as it devoured him.

Dr. Stimson tried to run and hide behind one of the large monitors to no avail. The monster-like thing smashed the monitor then bent over and with its jaws wide open, it sucked in Kylie. I could hear bone-crushing as it feasted on Dr. Stimson.

Hiding behind a very tall, wide, and loud machine watching as it all unraveled, knowing there was nothing I could do, I watched as my coworkers were ravenously consumed. I didn't want to be part of this in the first place. It was a bad idea from the start. I had a bad feeling about the whole thing. But, my cohorts insisted and look at where they are now. I'm Dr. John Shinlin and I am the only one left to tell this horrific tale, that is if I choose to do so!!!!
