Oh no! Today was the day Allen feared and hated the most. The one day that gave her a bundle of nerves - Halloween. The night of scares and tremors made Allen tremble with fright. All her friends loved dressing up in spooky costumes. Allen didn't. All her friends loved trick or treating all over the town. Allen didn't. All her friends loved watching Halloween movies that gave them cold feet. And yet, Allen didn't. On Halloween, just on Halloween Allen felt like a lone wolf - desperate and lonely. She hated herself for not liking what all her friends did. Down in the dumps, Allen snuggled up in a cozy corner of her bed, crying her heart out. Seeing this, her mother came closer to her and asked gently." Allen dear, what's wrong? Is Halloween bothering you again?" Allen nodded. Her mother came closer to her, and said" Allen, you don't have to like what others do. You are your own soul - a free, independent girl with her own wills and dreams. Being different doesn't mean that you're bad!" Allen understood. She wiped her face, combed her hair and went out to the park where her friends were talking about the Halloween plans that evening. Allen asked," Hey, I wanted to ask if you all would like to come to my home after trick or treating to watch a film together?" "Is it a horror film?" They asked. "Nope" said Allen smiling, "Even better, it's a fantasy film." The friends reconsidered. And then, to her surprise they agreed! That evening, all of them came to her home and watched the newly released film. Finally! It was Allen's first Happy Halloween!
