Pixie the kitten lived in a house with Jordi and his parents, where she spent each and everyday doing the same things. Pixie was tired of doing the same things everyday, she wanted to do something different, like going outside. Everytime pixie tried to go outside Jordi would stop her.

“You can't go out there.” he would say. Or “It is not safe out there.” Or “Outside is no place for a kitten.”

Pixie had no idea what Jordi meant, she just wanted to know what outside was like.

One day Pixie was feeling very bored and She was really, really, really tired of staying inside the house. She sat on a mat daydreaming about what it would be like to play outside in the warm sunshine.

“This is no life for kitten.”

She meowed under her breath.

“I know what I'll do.”

She thought as she stretched herself for the one hundredth time that day.

Pixie got up and positioned herself by the door and as soon as Jordi opened the door, she dash through it and into the sunshine.

“PIXIIIIEE!”

“PIXIIIIEE!”

She heard Jordi calling after her but Pixie had no intention of returning to the house yet.

She had exploring to do and adventure waited for no one so, off she went sniffing the grass and flowers along the way.

“It's going to be a good day.” she though to herself.

Pixie was prancing in the sunshine when she saw lizard passing by.

“Hello!” she meowed.

But the lizard ran away.

Pixie looked around to see what could have scared the lizard but she did not see anything.

“I guess he doesn't like strangers.” she thought to herself .

“Oh well, I'll just chase my tail then.” Pixie decided.

Pixie was in the middle of chasing her tail when a bird flew onto the branch of a nearby tree and started to sing. When Pixie saw
him, she walked over to the tree and looked up.

“Helllo!”

She meowed up at the bird.

“I like that song you're singing.”

But the bird flew away.

“That's strange.”

Pixie thought.

“Everyone seems to be in a hurry today.”

Pixie was lost in thought when she heard someone behind her say.

“Hey, who are you?”

She looked around and found a big brown dog standing behind her.

“ I'm Pixie.” She meowed.

“What's your name?”

“My name's Fudge and I live over there.” He replied.

Pointing his nose at the house next door.

“Where are you from?” He asked.

“I live in that house.” Pixie said.

Pointing her nose at the house behind him.

“I didn't know little Jordi had a kitten.” Fudge said.

“Thats because I've never been outside.” Pixie meowed.

“Didn't they tell you that it's not safe out here all by yourself?” Fudge asked.

“Yes ” Pixie replied. “But I haven't seen any danger yet.”

“Are you sure? Fudge asked.

“Yes” Pixie answered. “I only saw a lizard and a bird leaving in a hurry.”

“You really don't know, do you?” Fudge asked.

“Know what? ” Pixie meowed at him.

“ I'll show you.” He said grinning from ear to ear.

Pixie just stood there looking at him.

“Fudge sure is strange.” she thought to herself.

“This is going to be so much fun.” Fudge said giggling under his breath.

“Go stand over there.” Fudge ordered Pixie.

“Ok.” said Pixie.

She did as she was told all the while thinking how strange Fudge was.

She watched as Fudge took a couple steps back, then came barking and charging at her.

Pixie was so surprised, her heart start to race as if it wanted to leave her body.

Pixie had no idea what to do so, she did the first thing that came to her mind.

She ran full speed back to the house and dashed through the door, as Jordi opened it to see what all the noise was about.

“Go home fudge!”
Jordi yelled when he saw what fudge was doing.

“Pixie didn't you hear me calling you?” Jordi scolded.

As Pixie sat on a mat trying to catch her breath and slowing her racing heart. She was feeling very ashamed of herself.

“All I wanted was to see what outside was like and have an adventure.” She thought to herself.

“Now I know why they say curiosity killed the cat because these are the things nightmares are made of.”

Right then and there pixie vowed to never go outside alone again because she had learnt her lesson.

And she decided that fudge was a monster. A monster she never wanted to meet again.
