Chapter 7

Liviana had done a good job of convincing Albus that all agents of the Venator Order were needed for their mission. She planned to take them down in one fell swoop once they were done with the Execratus on Ubertas. She figured the remainder of the Execratus would be easy work for her and her priestesses. Albus itched to wipe the Execratus out, it wouldn't be long now until he had the chance to kill Liviana and her monstra. Heck! He would get rid of the crone and her band himself. Albus didn't trust the old crone one bit but he needed the numbers to take down the island. Catori had made sure Liviana and her priestesses thought the location of Ubertas was in the middle of Perditus, a safe distance from the actual location of the island. That night Liviana had shared her plan to take down the order with her priestesses. "Come morning, we take our rightful place in the world. These men only see us as vermin, using us as a means to an end. Well I say we use them back. After all, who's to say they won't come after us once they're done with the others?" She'd said to her companions. She'd promised those who joined her power, a chance to rule by her side and those who opposed her, death. When she was done polishing up her plans, her priestesses joined her in giving orders to the other Execratus that the order used as trackers and soldiers. They were the Donatus who'd been imprisoned, broken and brainwashed by the order's priestesses, leaving them as nothing more than robots who were magically bound to the will of the priestesses. They called them the immortui.

On the other hand, Alanna and Aimil took a few hours that night to spend some time alone in the ship gifted to them by Celestina, high up above the island. "What are we going to do about the immortui? You know the order will definitely bring them as part of their army," Aimil asked. "We bind their magic temporarily and heal what was done to them before we can release them back into the world," Alanna answered. She sent out a telepathic message to Orcus, asking him to prepare a special place in his realm where they could keep the immortui while they recovered until they were well again and sent out a message to the other deities to let them know of the plan. She knew there was a possibility that some of them would not survive the war but she wanted to ensure they at least had a chance. "You have such a big heart, always have. That's one of the things I love about you," Aimil said pulling her onto his lap and kissing her softly. Alanna kissed him back passionately, grinding her hips onto him as her hands moved to take off his shirt. "I know we're about to go to war but right now, I need you," she whispered against his lips. "I'm right here, Mea Dea," Aimil mumbled into her lips, stripping her bare, his hands roaming over her body attentively. He made love to her gently and ravaged her body fiercely while she begged for more.

The skies were still dark when they both woke up a few hours later, naked and wrapped around each other, to a message from Genarius. It was time. Alanna and Aimil sent word to their family down at the island as they got ready and went out to meet their divine companions who were hovering above Perditus above the clouds, watching hundreds of the enemy ships approach the spot they'd led them to. Magus had put up a false barrier there so they'd think it was the barrier to Ubertas. "Ready?" Alanna asked them. "Oh we've been ready," Marcelline answered excitedly. Marcelline was the Goddess of war, fights like this, especially for a righteous cause, excited her. Fortenay, her husband smirked at her form, vibrating with excitement, while the others simply chuckled. "What? You can't tell me you haven't been looking forward to this!" She said with a playful glare at the others. Meanwhile, Albus and Liviana could hardly contain their excitement, though for very different reasons. "Set?" Albus directed at Liviana, his gaze firmly fixed on the sea in front of them. "Set," she replied with a sly grin as she eyed him. Just then, the winds they'd faced on their way here grew stronger and their ships swayed as the waves crashed into their ships with gusto. "Take down the barrier," Albus yelled, having a hard time hearing his own voice over the sound of the rushing wind and tumultuous waters. Liviana and her priestesses got to work, chanting in a language that was foreign to Albus with their hands held out while the soldiers grabbed their weapons, poised to pounce once the barrier was down.

"Let's go down, make sure we're on the other side of that barrier when it comes down," Alanna told the others. Magus cloaked them as they flew down and stopped just above the water behind the barrier. "Poor things! Look at them all serious and focused thinking they're about to succeed!" Tyanah laughed as she watched them. Magus added a little extra resistance to the barrier just for them fun of it. "What in inferna is taking so damn long?" Albus bellowed angrily at Liviana. Liviana simply ignored him, focused on her task. It took a lot more effort than she'd thought they would have to exert to bring the barrier down but eventually, it slowly but surely rolled down. Albus, Liviana and their companions wore confused expressions when the barrier finally came all the way down, revealing nothing but sea on the other side. Suddenly a blinding light appeared out of thin air and they shielded their eyes with their hands as Magus took down the cloak around the deities.

"That's quite enough, don't you think?!" Alanna said, her voice booming across the sea. She had an amused smirk on her face but the look in her glowing eyes was deadly. Liviana, her priestesses and the soldiers' eyes widened, their jaws going slack with shock as they regarded the glorious deities before them. Albus clenched his jaw and growled. Whoever this lot were, he needed to take them down. "Soldiers! Aim and fire!" He commanded. The soldiers fumbled with their guns and arrows while Liviana and her priestesses frantically scrambled to direct the immortui. "Orianna, you're up!" Vitor said with a smile. "Catori, you know what to do!" Alanna said. The order's bullets, arrows and fireballs were swallowed a fiery wall. "Ignis spiritus!" Orianna yelled and balls of fire flew from the fiery wall into the ships. Liviana, her priestesses and their immortui tried to shield the ships but the fireballs broke through, setting several of the soldiers on fire as well the sails. "Magus! Orcus! Get the immortui now!" Alanna said. In a flash, Magus drained the magic from the immortui, rendering them unconscious while Orcus opened up a portal and threw them in before closing it.

"Come on Albus! Is this really all you've got?" Aimil taunted. Albus clenched his jaw tightly and scrambled to grab a crossbow near him, firing a few poisoned arrows towards him. Aimil simply smiled and as the arrows were about a foot away, they suddenly turned and hurtled straight into Albus with a force that had him flying across his ship and landing on the floor boards with a loud thud. His eyes were wide and his jaw hung slack as he wheezed out his last breaths. Liviana was enraged. This wasn't meant to happen! With her eyes wide and mad, she grabbed one of her priestesses, siphoning magic from her until she fell dead, blood flowing freely from her eyes, nose and ears. Liviana screamed as she threw a huge fiery ball at the floating figures. Anylah caught the ball in her winds and threw it towards one of the ships, making it explode with a loud bang. The deities wanted to deal with Liviana last. One by one, the deities destroyed the ships and the soldiers in them with water, fire, winds and lightning. The sky was darkened by their rage, only occasionally lighting up with flashes of lightning and fire. The priestesses tried to run but Liviana created a force field around them. "No! You're not running out on me! If you won't use your magic to help me then you don't need it!" She yelled angrily, foaming at the mouth as she held her hands up and started mumbling under her breath. "Wow! She's really mad, that one!" Tempest said laughingly. One by one the priestesses fell, their bodies limp and reduced to dry corpses as Liviana took their magic and their life force in a rage before turning her attention back to the deities.

"You will not stop me! You don't get to take this from me!" She screamed, her eyes wild as she released glowing orbs from her hands towards the deities. "No, I get to take much more!" Alanna growled lowly as she stepped forward in front of them and held out her glowing hands, the orbs transforming into golden mist at her palms as she absorbed their energy. It didn't matter that Liviana had stopped throwing orbs at them, Alanna pulled her energy to her, transforming it into golden mist as she absorbed it into her glowing hands. "Wait! Stop! I can be useful!" Liviana shouted in a panic as her magic and life force left her. "I don't care about your usefulness! I gave you this gift and all you've done is abuse it and use it to cause destruction! It's time I took it back!" Alanna growled, her lips curling into a snarl. She drew until there was nothing left to draw. When Liviana's corpse fell limp, Catori who'd been gathering the souls hovered over it, taking Liviana's soul and binding it with the others. "Got 'em all, mella?" Genarius asked his wife as he floated towards her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and kissing her temple. "Did you doubt me?" She asked, nudging his side with her elbow playfully. "I wouldn't dare!" Genarius answered with a sweet smile as he waved his hand, opening up a portal to the purgatory they'd created specifically for these souls while Catori threw them in, closing the portal behind them. "Well that was a piece of cake!" Tyanah laughed, jumping into her husband Faunus's arms.

"We still have a couple things to do," Alanna said with a smile, shaking her head at Tyanah's antics. She was by far the most animated of the deities. Alanna opened up several portals around the deities, pulling the remaining members of the Venator Order through them and closing the portals behind them. The remaining members of the order fell into the sea in loud splashes, their limbs flailing about as they tried to stay afloat. "You lot have had your fun, time's up!" She said calmly as Mors drew their souls from their bodies, throwing them into the newly created purgatory with the rest of their hateful colleagues through Genarius's portal before closing it up. "What now?" Damiya asked. "I say we reintroduce ourselves to the world," Aurel said as he looked towards the rising sun, brightening its rays to dispel the darkness from the skies. Just then, a golden orb flew towards the deities and transformed into Florian, head of the archangeli, the strongest commander of the angelum. "Mea Dea! We meet again," the archangelus said with a deep bow and a warm smile directed at Alanna. "Florian," she said, smiling back at the archangelus and raising her palm to her chest in greeting. Florian closed their eyes and a host of angelum appeared behind them, bowing deeply before scattering across the skies in different directions. "Ready?" Florian asked and the deities nodded. The sound of trumpets filled the air all over the world, drawing people, Donatus and mundanes alike, as well as magical creatures out. Genarius opened a mirror portal in front of them that scattered images of their glowing majestic forms to the world.

"The Venator Order is gone. For aeons, you have been lied to. You have forgotten that the world was full of magic once and you have treated those with our divine gifts as monstra, as aliens who don't belong in a world that was originally theirs. Mundanes, born from those who were disconnected from their magic have forgotten their history, their divine origin before their ancestors became power hungry and destructive. That ends now! To those with magic, you are not Execratus, you are Donatus and it's nothing to be ashamed of or persecuted for, neither is it an excuse to abuse your power. It's time for the world to go back to what it once was, full of magic with all beings living in harmony with each other throughout the multiverse. It's time for the golden age to return once more. However we warn you, unlike before we will not be far off in realms separated from this world and the hatred of the Venator that once spread like wildfire will not be taken kindly and will be dealt with. We, the Gods and Goddesses, have returned and we're not going anywhere," Alanna said, her voice echoing across the universe. "Your governments have been full of corruption and deception, working on behalf of the Venator. That ends now! It's time for a different kind of governance, a proper system of justice. We are here to return this world to divine order led by our queen and king," Guisto added, gesturing to Alanna and Aimil who stood hand-in-hand. "There's a lot of work to be done but we're committed to getting it done, starting now," Lira added.

Many of the government officials were in a panic after the broadcast. They knew their time was done, they knew they could no longer hide and benefit from oppressing the masses in the shadows. The mundanes were reeling in shock. All they'd been taught by the Venator who'd educated them through various institutions was suddenly erased, all illusions they thought they knew to be true were pulled away, the ground they'd stood on snatched from under them in one fell swoop and everything they'd been taught was impossible suddenly a reality. The Donatus however, were relieved, hopeful that they'd be able to live their lives without being under constant threat of attack, without being hunted.
