Ruffus continued on, and soon he came upon the stream. It was even more beautiful than he had imagined. The water sparkled in the sunlight, and the sound of the flowing water was soothing.

He cautiously approached the edge and dipped one tiny foot into the cool stream. The current was swift, but not overwhelming. Ruffus took a deep breath and decided to cross. He carefully made his way across the rocks, stepping cautiously with each movement.

Halfway through, he lost his balance and tumbled into the water. He was swept away for a moment but managed to grab hold of a nearby rock. Panting and soaked, he pulled himself to safety on the opposite bank.
