Sarah Parks, a 17 year old girl, woke up one morning to her blaring alarm clock. She slammed the snooze button in frustration. She got up and checked her iPhone, it read, Saturday, October 15. She screamed in excitement and kissed her alarm clock apologetically. She got really excited that it was Saturday, so excited that she jumped in her bed and bumped her shin into the iron frame of the bed. “AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Later, at 11:15 A.M. She got out of bed for a second time this morning. She went to her kitchen downstairs, and she took the peanut butter and jelly out from the nearly empty cabinet. She spread out the peanut butter on one slice and jelly on the other. She sat on the recliner with her legs up, turned on the news and started munching on her sandwich. She had no plans, as usual, just the way she liked it. After she was done eating, she washed up, sat in her black and pink gaming chair and ringed Emma on Discord. The familiar “ding” sound played and Sarah asked “You down to play?” “Sure!” Emma replied. They got on VALORANT, a first person shooter game, and partied up. 3 hours later, they decided to take a break and come back later. Sarah decided to go to Taco Bell and pick up lunch. She got in her dad’s old rusted car and drove to the market. Once she came back to her house, she saw that the door was unlocked. She realized that she forgot to lock it. “Ah, whatever,” Sarah said. She ate her lunch lying down on the sofa while watching television. Suddenly she heard a creak upstairs. She paused Attack on Titan, the show she was watching, and went to investigate. She slowly went up the stairs. She did not even try to stay silent because of all the creaky stairs. She reached the top. She heard the creak again coming from the attic. She has never gone in the attic since her dad left. This time she was sure that it wasn’t just her imagination. She picked up a baseball bat that was on the floor next to her, she pulled the string and the attic ladder came tumbling down along with an avalanche of dust. She covered her nose with her shirt and slowly went up the creaky ladder. It was too dark and she couldn’t find the light switch, so she pulled out her phone and turned the flashlight on. She slowly approached the labyrinth of darkness. The silence grew louder. She reached the end of the attic and nothing was there. BANG.
Sarah screamed and turned around. The trapdoor to the attic closed. She panicked. “LET ME OUT!” Sarah screamed. “Why would I let a living human out,” a male voice croaked. Suddenly she felt a sinister presence behind her. She slowly turned around. “AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH.” She saw a bald old man, he was extremely pale, his eyes were white with the faintest gray pupil. She swung the bat aimlessly and screamed, “STAY AWAY!” The old man licked his lips, “AT LAST I CAN FEEL THE JOY OF LIVING AGAIN,” ignoring Sarah’s screams. The man let out a huge cackle. He then pulled a bat out of nowhere. Sarah blinked, he disappeared, she blinked again and saw a bat to her face. That was the last sight she ever saw. As a live human anyways.
