Years later, they returned to their old school, to the town where it all started. It was just for a weekend, but it felt like a lifetime.

They stood in the empty gym, hands linked, looking around at the place where so much had changed.

Molly looked at the bleachers, the basketball court, the place where she'd first fallen in love with Jessica. "I used to think I'd never be happy here," she said softly.

Jessica smiled, the kind of smile that only Molly could read. "Now you're unbearable."

They laughed, and it was easy, natural. Like they had always known how to laugh together.

Then, out of nowhere, Molly knelt down, pulling a small velvet box from her jacket.

Jessica's eyes widened, her breath catching.

Molly grinned. "You once told me love wasn't the plan. But you made me believe in it. So? will you keep choosing me, Jess?"

Jessica's eyes filled with tears, and her voice trembled when she said, "Yes."

The whole world, right there, in a moment that felt like everything and nothing at once.

The wedding was everything you could think of, rose gold and silver. Molly and Jessica entwined as one. Finally.
