One day in a forest, there were several animals talking to each other. The animals were monkey, mouse, rabbit, and giraffe. Then, the mouse said, "Ah, I'm so upset; my shortcomings make me easily injured, and many animals want to prey on me," and sighed. Then, the monkey asked, "What are your shortcomings, mouse?" And the mouse answered, "Yes, of course, all that happened because my body is very small compared to all of you." The rabbit was shocked and said, "Gosh, mouse! Your shortcomings are not as bad as mine. My long ears make it easier for predators to detect." The monkey responded to the rabbit by saying, "Oh my, rabbit and mouse, my shortcomings are worse than both of yours. I don't have the same physical strength as other large animals, so I have difficulty fighting larger animals." Suddenly, in the middle of their conversation, the giraffe came with an arrogant face and said, "Hahaha, compared to all of you, I have no shortcomings; in fact, my advantages are very good: I am very tall, and unlike all of you small creatures, I can take food or leaves that are high without much effort." The monkey, mouse, and rabbit looked at each other with confused faces. But they ignored what the giraffe said. Because it was already evening, they said goodbye to each other to go home to their respective places. The next day, precisely in the morning, they met in the same place, the rabbit, the monkey, the mouse, and the giraffe. They wanted to visit a cave that was said to have very clear water. Finally, they began their journey to the cave. When they arrived in front of the cave, they saw the light reflecting off the water very clearly. Their smiles showed how happy they were. They went into the cave. However, the giraffe hit a rock when he wanted to enter the cave because he was too tall. Finally, he had to bend down, but just a few steps, his head hit a rock again because he was too tall. Because he was in too much pain, he decided to talk to his friends about his troubles because of his height. And he said, "Guys, sorry to ruin your fun, but I've been hit by rocks twice in this cave because of my height." At first, the giraffe thought his friends would ignore him. However, what happened was the opposite of what he thought. The rabbit said, "Wow, you should have said from the beginning that you were hit, giraffe! It can't be if our friends are in pain and we are having fun," and the monkey said, "Come on, let's go back and think of a solution outside." When outside, the giraffe said, "Guys, I'm sorry, I was arrogant yesterday. It turns out that being tall also has its drawbacks" with a sad face. All his friends forgave the giraffe, and their friendship got better every day.
The moral of this story is: We should not be arrogant because everyone certainly has shortcomings.
