In a lush jungle along the banks of a winding river, there lived a cunning crocodile named Kavi and a quick-witted monkey named Miku. Kavi was always on the lookout for his next meal, and one day he set his sights on Miku, who often played near the riverbank. One hot afternoon, Kavi hatched a plan. He swam close to the shore where Miku was gathering fruits and said, "Hello, Miku! I've noticed how hardworking you are. Why don't you come with me to the other side of the river? The fruit trees there are laden with the juiciest fruits you've ever seen."Miku, always cautious, eyed Kavi suspiciously. "Why would you help me, Kavi? What's in it for you?"Kavi, flashing his sharp teeth in what he hoped was a friendly smile, replied, "Oh, nothing at all! I simply want to be your friend. It's lonely here in the river, and I'd love some company."Miku, though tempted by the promise of delicious fruits, did not trust Kavi. He decided to play along to uncover Kavi's true intentions. "Alright, Kavi. I'll come with you," he said, hopping onto Kavi's back.As Kavi swam toward the middle of the river, Miku asked innocently, "Kavi, why do you keep licking your lips?"Kavi couldn't contain his hunger any longer and confessed, "To be honest, Miku, I intend to eat you. Your heart will make a delicious meal!"Thinking quickly, Miku gasped dramatically, "Oh, Kavi, why didn't you say so earlier? I would have brought my heart with me if I had known!"Kavi stopped swimming, confused. "What do you mean?"Miku explained, "Us monkeys don't carry our hearts with us all the time. I left mine hanging on a tree branch back on the shore. If you take me back, I can fetch it for you."Greed clouded Kavi's judgment, and he turned back to the shore. As soon as they reached land, Miku leaped off Kavi's back and scrambled up the nearest tree.Safe among the branches, Miku called down, "Silly Kavi! You should know that hearts can't be left behind. You won't trick me so easily!"Kavi, realizing he had been outsmarted, growled in frustration and swam away. From that day on, he never tried to deceive Miku again. The clever monkey continued to play near the riverbank, always keeping a watchful eye on the water. And so, Miku and Kavi lived in an uneasy truce, each respecting the other's wits and wariness.
