The Karen

Most of us have met or experienced the arrogant or snobbish stuck-up females who act like ass-holes and think the world revolves around them. They’re the women who think their shit doesn’t stink and that they’re too good to be around regular people or those who they feel are less than them. They feel entitled, and anything less than exceptional is considered an insult to them. Most of us call them a "Karen" because of their entitled or privileged attitude. If you haven’t met those kinds of women, consider yourself lucky or, as some folk say, “blessed”.

Chapter 6

The Fallout and the Melt-down

The manager came to the register, and the cashier explained the dilemma to him.

Manager: Ma'am, the register shows the clearance price of the item. There's no additional percentage taken off. I put the sign up early this morning and it states that the items in that department with red tags are all 50% off, but it doesn't mention any additional discounts.

Beth: NO! You give me an additional 50% off! The customer is always right! I have lived in this community for years and spend my hard-earned money here weekly, and I will not allow you to treat me like some second-class citizen! Are you even a real manager?! I thought the store manager was white! Ever since they let you people live in our area, this place has been going downhill!

Cashier: Ma'am, do you want the items or not? Right now, you're acting like a real "Karen"!

Beth: My name is NOT KAREN! I want the item with the additional 50% off?... like the sign says! You're being such a bitch about this!

Manager: Ma'am, please refrain from calling my cashier names. And the answer is still no. We will not take an additional percentage off. You can pay for your other items and leave the store.

The manager noticed something off about Beth's behavior and quickly called for the store security to come to the front of the store. After paying for most of her items, things took a wild turn when she suddenly tried to grab the box with the pots and pans?without paying for it.

Security sprang into action as they sprinted over to the register. In the chaos, the manager and security found themselves in a tug of war with Beth, trying to wrestle the box from her arms. It was a tense scene, with a mix of confusion and concern as they grappled with the situation unfolding right there in the store, as the customers watched and some recorded the action.

Manager: Please, let go of the box! We cannot allow you to take the items out of here without paying for them!

Beth: AH! You're hurting me! STOP! STOP! Let me go!

After the box was forced out of her arms, Beth stumbled backward and fell to the floor with a dramatic display of agony as she cried out.

Beth: Aaahh! They pushed me down and assaulted me! I'm in so much pain! I can't get up because I hurt my back!

It was apparent that Beth was putting on a show, her voice high-pitched with feigned distress. With a waving finger, she accused the manager and security guard of the supposed assault, painting them as the villains in her story while she lay there, pretending to be injured.

But concealed behind her performance, a flicker of mischief danced in her eyes. It was all an act, a carefully crafted scene to draw attention and sympathy from the slew of customers watching. Most of the customers laughed and made snide remarks as they continued recording her behavior?all while calling her a "Karen".
