Stanely Loft Cray looked at the psychiatrist and said, "Did it ever occur to you that my stories you slate as fiction or delusion are in fact reflections channeled through my mind from alternate dimensions."

The psychiatrist thought on that for a moment and replied, "I must admit that your stories always come out the same no matter how many times you tell them. However, one can regurgitate memorized material as easily."

"What if I told you that in an alternate dimension, correction, a parallel dimension we are the best of friends in a distant future who travel in time." Stanely challenged.

Dr. Vaglyn, intrigued yet skeptical, responded, "Stanely, that's a fascinating concept, but it's hard to accept without any tangible evidence."

Stanely, with a mysterious smile, replied, "What if the evidence has always been around us, Doctor? What if we've been too blind to see it?"

Before Dr. Vaglyn could respond, the room started to vibrate. The air seemed to ripple, and a portal appeared before them. Stanely extended his hand towards Dr. Vaglyn, "Shall we, Doctor?"

With a gulp, Dr. Vaglyn took Stanely's hand and stepped into the portal. They emerged in a world unlike anything he had ever seen. It was a futuristic cityscape with towering buildings, flying vehicles, and diverse alien species walking alongside humans.

Stanely pointed towards a large holographic billboard displaying their images. The caption read, "Stanely and Vaglyn: Heroes of the Cosmos." Dr. Vaglyn was speechless. His skepticism was replaced by awe and disbelief.

When they returned to the office, Dr. Vaglyn found himself at a loss for words. He looked at Stanely, his patient, in a new light. The stories were not delusions; they were memories of adventures in parallel dimensions. The reality of his experience was undeniable, and it challenged everything he knew about the world and himself.

But there
was a problem.

"The thing is Stanely. In this dimension the man you killed was not a criminal. He was a police officer."

"The thing is Dr. Vaglyn the man I killed in that alternate dimension was a criminal and was about to kill me. But there was a glitch in the fabric that separates one dimension from others and so the criminal Joey Clarmen and the officer Joey Clarmen switched just as I shot the criminal."

"I get it Stanely. And I have no choice but to believe you. Nonetheless the police and prosecutor won't believe you or me. You will be charged with willful murder and I'll lose my credibility."

In that case Doc, there is only one solution?

Stanely looked at Dr. Vaglyn, his eyes filled with determination. "The solution, Doctor, is simple. We must escape to a dimension where this crime did not occur."

Just as he finished his sentence, they heard the sirens wailing outside the office. The police had arrived. Stanely quickly grabbed Dr. Vaglyn's hand and activated the portal device. A shimmering portal appeared before them.

"You can control you illusions? But Wait, Stanely! What about our lives here?" Dr. Vaglyn asked, his voice filled with apprehension.

Stanely gave him a reassuring smile. "Trust me, Doctor. Our lives are about to become a lot more interesting."

With that, they stepped into the portal just as the police burst into the office. The portal closed behind them, leaving the bewildered officers staring at the empty room.

In the new dimension, they found themselves in a peaceful countryside. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and there was no sign of any police or crime. They were safe, at least for now.

Stanely turned to Dr. Vaglyn, "Welcome to our new beginning, Doctor. Here, we are not fugitives. We are free."

As they walked towards the horizon,
they knew their adventures were just beginning. Their narrow escape had not only saved them from the police but also opened up a world of infinite possibilities. They were no longer a patient and a psychiatrist. They were explorers, adventurers, heroes of the cosmos. Best friends.

"Where are we Stanely?"

"I have no idea Doc. I can open my mind portal on command but I cannot control what portal will open."

"Well. Let's go find out."
