It was a rainy fall evening when my date came and picked me up from the apartment complex. I was wearing a white and red dress that bloomed out at the bottom with red polka dots. It was my first homecoming dance with a date, and I was so excited. My mom wasn't particularly thrilled, but understood that I was getting older and mature, that being alone for a big night just wouldn't do anymore.

My date was in a traditional black tux that suited his frame well. My mom then took pictures in the apartment and by his red pick-up truck, then we were off to the festivities. The dance was going well, we saw our mutual friends and decided to hang with them for the night; dancing and laughing as though the night would never end. It was getting hot inside the school, so we decided to go outside to feel the nice breeze when my date had the bright idea to leave. In hindsight, we should've stayed where we were, or he should've driven me home; but two teenagers with no adult supervision for a few more hours sounded nice, plus teenage hormones were flaring and I was still a virgin... losing it sounded like the completion this night needed.

We went back inside the school; told my friends I'd see them in the morning and my date, and I headed to the truck to figure out our next destination. We got in the truck, when my date decided to turn and kiss me, God it was amazing, but I wanted to more. He turned the key in the ignition, put the truck in drive and we left for our new adventure. We drove for about ten minutes until we saw a secluded apartment complex. It was dark with lots of trees, so this was it, the area where the deed would happen.

My date parked and turned off the car, turning to me he smiled and proceeded to kiss me more, harder, his right-hand steading me and his left finding its way under my dress. I decided to make a bold move, moving up and onto his lap, his hands repositioning in the process. As we continued to kiss, I see movement in the corner of my eye. I look up to see a man and a dog, guessing he's taking the dog for one last walk before he turns in for the night. I go back to making out with my date.

Some time passed by when we felt weight on the truck, our kiss breaks, and I look up again. The man with the dog is near the truck, peering through the window. Before I could check to make sure the driver side door was locked the man breaks the window, gun pointed at us.

"What the hell?" I manage to say before the man is yelling at us to get out the truck. I'm frozen, unable to move, so the man grabs my arm and yanks me off my date. My instincts kick in and I grab for my date with my left hand, but we miss. The man threw me on the ground, gun still in his hand, he points it at my date and fires a shot. The man turns to me, grabs me by my hair and throws me into the back of a car a few spots from the truck. I scream at him to stop, but he ignores me. About five minutes later the car starts to move, not knowing what's to come, I fear the worst. We drive for what seems to be forever until the car parks and the engine quits. I'm not sure where we are or what direction we went, but wherever we are has to be secluded, if he's smart.

The trunk pops open, the man pulls me out and carries me about a mile away. There are trees everywhere and a small stream. The man stops walking, looks at me with a creepy smile and throws me down in a hole. When I sit up a bit there's dirt being thrown in my eyes, on my head, and all around my body. He is burying me alive. How could this be, how could such a nice, fun night end like this?

The dirt is cold and heavy. My breathing is slowed, I know I have to take in small breaths if I want to live as long as possible; but why? Why should I need to do this, who is going to find me here? My options of getting out of this hell is low, I wonder if I'll ever be found. How long will it take, if ever? I know my date will be found easy, someone is bound to find him first since the man took and left with me in the car. It's a Saturday and I live in a college town; we parked at an apartment complex. As my eyes grew tired and my mind became more tired, I accepted my fate, whatever may come of this, peace has taken over.

This story is absolutely gripping—starting with youthful innocence and quickly spiraling into pure terror. The shift from excitement to horror was seamless, making every moment feel real and gut-wrenching. The scene of being buried alive was chilling, and I could feel the desperation. Incredible tension and storytelling—I need to know what happens next though!

Well written. And a nice idea of a plot twist. Watch your tenses, you tend to slip between past and present. Consider the tone of the adjectives you choose and the "feel" you want to give. For instance, once it turns dark, always use dark, foreboding adjectives. Once you set the suspenseful tone you want to keep it going in every word and description. Don't give the reader any reprieve by suddenly describing something as nice or peaceful.    One of the better written ones I have read here.

I LOVE cliffhangers! It allows the reader to make their own ending in their head if they want. Thank you for reading and leaving a comment!
