'THE ROAD'

"Why the hell this road is too lengthy? ... Ye road thodi chhoti nahi ho sakti thi." I cursed the length of road two days ago in fear of being late.

I used to become late daily in my routine morning works before going to college. And the worst part was the road from my home to the taxi stand. I daily used to curse that road for being too long as it takes at least four minutes to cover that distance. And four minutes matter a lot if your college gate is closed at sharp timing.

But today's morning was special, as soon as I reached at road; I saw her crossing the road from other side and coming towards me.

She was wearing a dark blue jeans, an sky blue top with short leaves and a silver blue 'duppata' in her neck. With open hairs, she was looking not less beautiful than any princess. After all she was my princess before some time.

As she came near to me, I didn't miss the chance to talk to her, "Hello... How is your MBA going on?" I asked her with a little hesitation.

I was talking to her after a long span of almost four years. We were together in my school from nursery to 12th standard. And today when I saw her, I anyhow overcome my hesitation...

After all she was my first choice since I know that we have to choose a girl for us.

"Hi, I am doing nice... What about you?" She replied, removing her hairs from her face with her hand. I just gave her a smile in answer. We started to walk together towards taxi stand. I just slow down my speed to match her steps.

She was looking same
pretty as I used to see in schooldays; same cute smile, same deep black eyes and same location of a beautiful 'til' on her little nose. I was watching her so closely after years or I should say first time in my life. I felt like walking one feet above the earth due to happiness in my heart.

"You have joined your college as a lecturer na? ... I have listened somewhere." She revealed my mystery. She gave me a smile with an indication that I should not try to hide anything from her.

"you know this? ...I am surprised." I answered her.

It was very nice to know that she is aware of my present status. I have thought that she must be forgetting me.

"So... What is your specialization?" I asked her to avoid breaking of communication.

"HR..." She replied looking at the road as if she was avoiding to be seen by someone, walking on road with a boy.

I didn't miss the chance to stare at her from very close. She was killing me with her looks and matured way of talking.

Soon I saw the taxi stand very near to us. I just assured her, "HR is very good ... one day you will take interview of many guys like me."

She looked at me from the corner of her black eyes, gave the cutest smile and said, "Yaar... it's quite tough to get a good job now a day ..."

We had reached at taxi stand. I wanted to ask her many question of my heart. I wanted to share many things of past. I desperately wanted to spend some more time with her on that beautiful morning. But life does never move according to us.

"B...Bye" She waved her hand as I got in my taxi. Her route was different so she moved
towards another taxi.

I wished her goodbye with half hearted mind, sat inside the taxi. I was seeing her back going away. It was like a dream to me.

My taxi started to move. I turned back to see her but couldn't as she had gone.

I closed my eyes, took a long breath and said,

"Kaash.... Kaaash ke ye road kuch aur lambi hoti... I wish this road would have some more length..."
