Chapter 13: Running Back

Chapter 12: Running Through Time

The room began to shake, and the walls melted like wax. We were flung through time again, landing back in the present. The mansion was dark and silent, but the monster was still there. He was waiting for us, pointing his long claws to the wall. He looked at us evilly

"You know too much," Victor growled, his voice guttural and filled with rage.

We ran. Victor chased us, he was running and cursing something as he raised his hand up like he wanted to grab us

The mansion was a maze, and every door we opened led us somewhere more terrifying - a room filled with hanging dolls, their eyes following us as we moved; a dining hall where the skeletons of the family sat at the table, their jaws frozen in silent screams. The bloody table, with rotten foods all over the plates and tiny pieces of bone. The monster was always just behind us, his claws scraping against the walls, his breath hot on our necks.
