To hell with reality tv

Presented with a picture of Paul Watson as a demon, a poem created to vent my anger and frustration at the absurdity and disgust I have with reality tv.

What a steaming pile of excrement,

Assaulting our eyes as TV executives

Craft scenes designed to deceive -

Falsehoods wrapped in deception.

Happy families smile for the camera,

While behind closed doors, suffering festers.

Greedy parents exploit their children,

Trading innocence for profit and gain,

While the young ones languish in pain.

Kate Gosselin - oh, how the gossips

Hailed you as "Parent of the Year,"

While you lined your pockets

With the spoils of child exploitation.

Who could forget when Hollywood

Sent a horde of children to the wilderness,

A horror of hurricanes and bleach,

Suffering for our amusement.

Reality TV, patting itself on the back,

Gifting extreme makeovers to the poor -

Only for them to face extreme evictions,

Drowning in taxes they couldn't afford.

Our eyes stung with vexation

As teenage mothers, lost and unfit,

Struggled with the weight of parenthood,

Only to have their children taken away.

Yet, idea after terrible idea,

They keep coming - relentless, vile, obscene.

Feeding our stomachs with disgust,

But never starving the greed

Of those who churn out the filth

That is reality TV.
