Trigger Warning Sexual Abuse, Emotional Trauma and Self Destruction Come and read something i wrote at the age of 16 when i was in foster care and i revised it recently
An old man, with an obsession with moths, seeks the ultimate purity. And what's purer, than the heart of a mother?
Jimmy worked in a coal mine in Wyoming. He is known best for his hot temper, drinking and chasing women. The small town was shocked to learn that Jimmy had set his sights on young Dixie Lee. Before Dixie Lee knew it, she is uprooted out of her parents home, and into Jimmy’s run down home. The rumor in town is, Dixie Lee’s father traded her to Jimmy for an old used tractor. After years, of dealing with Jimmy's drinking, skirting around with other women, physical and emotional abuse... Dixie Lee snaps and takes matters into her own hands by exacting a revenge so severe and gruesome, that she leaves their small town in utter shock!
A middle-aged woman explores a traumatic event from her youth.
How much do you help a friend in need, if it seems they aren't ready to help themselves?
I wanted to write about something which has become too common nowadays that it does not shock or unnerve us anymore. Especially in colleges, there are too many students who go through this kind of horrific experience but have no proper forum to get guidance or make them feel safe enough to tell their story. So, my story is about how sexual abuse has casually morphed into forms we don't recognize and has entwined itself into our lives as a constant form of fear.Â
The same evening I heard a big thud that of the dropping of the vessel followed by the banging of the door. I couldn't restrain myself. Although scared I rang their bell but received no response. Next what I heard loud noises and screams. I feared something untoward.Â
This is about me when I was a kid, my parents weren’t really that nice to me and my sister so this is a short story of one terrible winter.
