Daniel is a primary school teacher who taught students. He had chosen to teach in primary school after completing his postgraduate diploma in teaching. One day, the principal Mrs Yip entered the office.
"Mr. Chiu, there is a new student who will be joining your class from today onwards. Her name is Nikki Poon Hiu-man," the secretary informed. "Let her enter the classroom," he said.
Daniel then went to the classroom to begin his class. When he saw the girl, he froze on the spot. Nikki looked like an exact copy of his late girlfriend, Marie, who had died giving birth to their daughter.
"This can't be true," he muttered under his breath. "I lost my daughter 6 years ago."
Daniel's mind was transported to 6 years ago, when he was in a relationship with Marie. They were in their early 20s, and had planned to apply for postgraduate diploma in teaching after graduating from university. When Marie unexpectedly got pregnant, Daniel dropped out of college to work. Both he and Marie were determined to raise the baby. Unfortunately, Marie suffered complications during childbirth, and she could not be saved, while the baby girl survived. Distraught, Marie's parents wanted nothing to do with Daniel or the baby. Despite the difficulties faced, Daniel was determined to raise the baby. However, he lost her at the train station, when he was bringing her to his hometown. He had struggled with the loss, but with the help of family and friends, he got back on his feet. He re-enrolled into university and after graduating, he pursued a postgraduate diploma in teaching. After completing his postgraduate diploma, he applied to teach at primary school, reasoning that working with school children would help get over the loss of his baby daughter. Now that Nikki was standing right infront of him, he could not help but wonder if she was the daughter he had lost at the train station back then.
Feeling the need for answers, Daniel approached Nikki's mother. "Excuse me, Mrs. Poon, I need to speak with you. Is Nikki your biological daughter?" he asked.
"You can call me Liv, I'm not married," said Nikki's mother. She then asked Daniel what had happened. He revealed how Nikki looked like a carbon copy of his late girlfriend Marie. He also poured forth about the events from 6 years ago, about how Marie died during childbirth and how he lost his baby daughter at a train station. There was not a day he did not miss his daughter, and he chose to teach at a primary school, where working with school children helped him get over the loss. Upon hearing Daniel's story, Liv's eyes widened.
"I found her at the park 6 years ago and raised her as my daughter. She knows she's adopted," Liv said. She then recounted that she had gone to the park back then, intending to commit suicide after the loss of her parents in a car accident when she heard cries. At the bench, she found baby Nikki abandoned. She was crying at the top of her lungs. For some reason, she saw herself in the then baby, and she gave up committing suicide. She devoted herself into raising Nikki since then.
Liv suggested doing a DNA test, which Daniel agreed to. The DNA test later confirmed that Daniel was Nikki's biological father. "What do you plan to do?" Liv asked. "I'm not sure," Daniel replied. "It has been 6 years since I lost Nikki, and now I found her. I'm not sure how she would react to the presence of her father." Liv promised totry to let Nikki know what had happened back then, but told him not to keep his hopes too high. However, Daniel was already contented to be Nikki's teacher. On Nikki's birthday, Liv unexpectedly invited Daniel over. There, she told Nikki about Daniel being her biological father.
It did not take long for Nikki to accept Daniel as her biological father. Since he was already her teacher, transitioning into a father figure was no issue. Since then, father and daughter would spend time together. At the same time, Daniel developed feelings for Liv, which was mutual. After a while of dating, Daniel proposed to Liv, and she agreed. When they subsequently got married, Nikki was the happiest person, as she finally had a complete family.
