A 15-year-old introvert named Deeksha was the subject of this story. When it comes to fun-filled activities, she prefers to be alone. Her sensitivity and inferiority complex are consistent in everything she does. She has a classmate named Manvi who is more beautiful than her. As well as in education, Manvi excels in sports. She is a down to earth person, despite being a rich girl. Manvi's life always makes Deeksha jealous.
One day, Deeksha's father purchased a new dress for Deeksha. She wore it to school. However Manvi was wearing the most beautiful dress than Dheeksha. A lot of people complimented Manvi's dress. Deeksha became upset upon seeing that. Angrily, she returned home and began to argue with her parents over the dress. They tried to convince her but she didn't budge. Her parents became upset since she always complained about everything.
A new neighbor moved in next door to Deeksha. Three members of the same family: a mother, father, and daughter. There was poverty among them. Laila was the name of the little girl. As Deeksha stood on the terrace, she saw Laila was playing with a puppy while wearing old, torn clothes. Dheekha's mother offered old clothes of Deeksha to Laila. Laila was so happy that she thanked Deeksha's mom. As she saw that Deeksha was thinking how could she be grateful for having old clothes. While thinking about that Deeksha become hungry and went down to have dinner. Having ordered pizza for dinner, Deeksha and her mother sat down to eat.
After eating cheese corn pizza, Deeksha becomes angry because she loves barbeque chicken pizza. Her mother said that since it was Friday, non-veg food was not allowed inside the house. Deeksha eats a small amount of pizza for the sake of eating. After dinner, the table still had threeslices of pizza on it. Deeksha's mom asked her to give this pizza to Laila. In order to give Laila's pizza, Deeksha went to her house. The pizza made Laila so happy and she thanked Deeksha for giving it to her. In Deeksha's mind, she couldn't understand how she could be so excited about eating leftovers.
Laila's mom said to Laila, "thank the Lord for this food before eating it." Deeksha was curious and asked Laila's mother how they were able to be so happy despite being poor. Laila's mom said, "Happiness does not depend on the things we have. The state of mind determines the outcome. Whatever we have, we should be grateful for it. You will be happy after eating pizza if you desire it. It does not mean that you could not have another desire. New desires always arise. It is not possible to rely on one. However, happiness always stays with you. As long as you choose to be happy regardless of your possessions, you will be happy forever." Deeksha now understands that happiness is not dependent on material things, it's a state of mind. As soon as she arrived home, she put on her new dress and went to thank her dad for buying the dress. When Deeksha's parents see their daughter smile, they become happy themselves.
Note: Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy.
