Letter To Vancouver B.C Assistance Office
Dear Employment And Assistance Office B.C
I am claiming a financial replacement for payment of greyhound ticket that was denied. a letter was given and a phone call from Raven Song Mr Les A Connors on my behalf concerning my situation and how it was important that I leave Vancouver B.C and go back to London Ontario, because of my health concerns, and the income I was given, and not being able to survive in B.C as a result. This letter is attached .
As it stands when I arrived in Vancouver B.C in March 1 2017, I had to go without a assistance check, for two months, and resided at Salvation Army .
I was at first denied of any assistance , and then fought my case and won, but was only put onto Welfare receiving 234.00 a month. During this time, I had a interview for security job, but was required to take a course and get a license. I then proceeded to employment office called Works B.C , and was at that time in order of assessment to see if I could work.
I then new this was not applicable and called Daniel worker when arriving at the Maine Street office and he told me that because I have proven I was on O.D.S.P in London Ontario since age 16, and my worker from Ontario wrote him concerning this and why I was on O.D.S.P all this time, he said he would put a emergency request and application letter through on my behalf, in order to change my file from Welfare to Disability.
This was not applied as he said it would be, leaving me with no possible way to survive in B.C or even get a place to live. Even though I applied at Works B.C office, I new I could not work, if I had no residence to rest.
Several times I was asked by the Assistance office to submit my bank info to them, and several times I applied this request, going miles to do so, 3 times in fact.
The assistance office lost this info given by me, in Abbotsford and in Vancouver B.C twice, so I had to do it again the third time.
This caused much walking, and severity to my ability to go on.
Though because of my faith I could go on.
Therefore in order for me to receive a check in June 21 2017 I was required to submit a job search form, and I did do just that, again it was lost by you at the assistance office.
I applied my duties as required online, updated my file and still did not receive my assistance check.
I was residing in Vancouver B.C for almost 4 months, and out of the 4 Months, I went without assistance for 3 months out of 4 months, causing great tribulation to my life. March 2017, April 2017, and June 2017, in May 23 2017 I received two 234.00 incomes nothing more.
I had to borrow money from people in Ontario.
Also I had to weigh out my faith in God and do all I could to balance London Ontario O.D.S.P assistance and Vancouver B.C assistance in order to survive.
I ended up being kicked out of Salvation Army due to AC issues causing severe pain levels in my body, due to osteoporosis and arthritis .
This issue became way too hard on me, and I then ran from Salvation Army, called Police, but latter because I sat in the AW restaurant until 12:00 Midnight , for police I decided to call Salvation Army and see if I could come back, knowing I would not receive any sleep.
They allowed me to come back, though they threatened me as a result saying: YOU CAN NOT CALL THE POLICE ON US, IF YOU STAY HERE AT SALVATION ARMY.
I then agreed, but I new in my heart that if this was going to become a issue for my health, then something would have to be done as a result.
The next day I called Raven Song, and went to see worker , making it clear to the walk in Dr what was going on, with much pain in my body, and crying out for help.
He then gave me a letter , the Dr Name: Sima Amid from Raven Song, a letter saying: Ms Mccutcheon suffers from chronic musculoskieletal pain, which is attached . Chronic pain levels.
I then went back to Salvation Army and submitted this Dr Note to staff, at Salvation Army.
Latter this letter was not applied but in fact in night, the AC was turned up in my room as a result, no other room was as cold as mine was.
Persecution levels of AC .
The girl in my room agreed that the AC has never been that high in our room ever!
She wanted to complain, but due to her possibly being kicked out , she was afraid to complain.
I then took action as a result, I downloaded the Vancouver B.C police app, under my blankets and reported the issue.
The Police responded and came to see me at Salvation Army. The Police spoke to me and said: THIS IS NOT A POLICE MATTER.
I IN RESPONSE SAID, YOUR KIDDING ME MY HEALTH IS NOT A POLICE MATTER?
Nothing was done as a result, in fact the next morning I was asked to come into the staff room in morning and told I was to leave Salvation Army and find somewhere else to go.
I then proceeded and found a place but due to not being able to be in contact with anyone in the location Nanimo Island, I did not feel safe, I felt trapped and decided I could not stay there.
Latter I traveled many miles, and made calls , only one other Mission was available,in Langely B.C but when arriving I over heard and seen a man with bedbug sores all over his body, so I ran from the issue.
I ended up with no where to go as a result, walking miles, and smiling through it all with great faith in God, I kept going, though very sleepy, and in pain. THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH.
I traveled all night , stayed in Restaurants everywhere to be able to drink, keep my strength up as much as possible, all over B.C , and even in Casino places in order to keep safe. Being a 50 years old woman, none addictions, I new I had to stay off the streets and be safe.
I did all I could to stay safe, alive and well liquidated . Using the two assistance checks very well to survive.
I had no sleep for several days, because there was no place to go as a result, that was healthy as a clean woman, no addictions .
I ended up so sleepy, I had to go to the back of a restaurant to lay my head down on the pavement for a few hours.
I was noticed by owner and I asked nicely if i could rest a bit, and because she saw I was clean, she was okay with it. I did just that, cleaned up my mess and latter proceeded to the AW restaurant for a drink.
I used my money I had to keep fed .
I then made several calls to Missions and nothing was available. I felt Abandoned, and alone, praying .
I was so worn out to limit of death, I new I had to get some sleep soon, clean up, in washroom.
I then asked for a cab and hoped to find a motel cheap , praying and crying out to God. I found one, but questioned it, then I eventually was able to get a cab, and the cab driver new of a place I could go, cheap enough with the amount of money I had from borrowed money and birthday money I had, and God given Casino Money I won, and was finally given the rest needed, for two nights. The same Motel I questioned.
God Direction and Confirmation.
Latter I was able to go back from Langely B.C where I stayed at Motel, using my own money, still not feeling well, ill and because I could not keep up my proper glutton free diet intake being on the streets I was not feeling well because of that either.
My bowels felt like they were going to burst, I was still feeling sleepy, and running out of money.
I new I had just enough for a greyhound, and was debating what I should do, knowing missions were full, and I then was in contact with Abbotsford Janet Stuart , who new me through my Volunteer help for Abbotsford Police to help find Mary Stuart Missing Pregnant woman.
I gave my time, love and abilities through my own issues to help out in Abbotsford B.C , she was not able to assist properly. To make long story short.
I then made my way back to Vancouver B.C to the Lookout where woman resided over night.
I never been there before, and as I sat on the cot, I was thinking of my prospects, and options, I spoke to a staff member in office, and she said she could talk to a few people tomorrow on my behalf concerning greyhound ticket, but I was losing hope, feeling this was going to be a run around situation.
I then took action, looked up greyhound, still low in immunity in my body, no strength from traveling and lugging my things, I called greyhound and found out I had just enough to get back to London Ontario.
I then left , telling staff and made my way to Greyhound.
I used the food stamps I saved to get some food from Grocery Store for my trip, knowing I only had enough for the Greyhound ticket , not enough for food. I traveled by faith down B.C streets towards greyhound, and a lady I met in Vancouver B.C saw me said hello, and assisted me to a near bye grocery store, leaving me there with a hug, and encouraging me. This gave me strength as a result.
I lugged my things in desperate measures, in pain, no sleep and only had my faith to depend on, and the strength of my Lord Jesus Christ, to get me through my Journey.
I had no other option , and felt I had to do something, and a Greyhound trip sounded very good to me at the time, a seat to sleep.
I was desperate and new if I did not do something I would fall to my face and die. Before leaving B.C the Dr took my Blood Pressure, and I has a very low count, way too low.
When after 4 days trip which was at the start okay. Not so many people aboard bus.
latter very busy giving me no more rest, for rest of bus ride back to London Ontario.
I then when arriving in London Ontario eventually saw my Dr and had to receive a Vitamin B 12 Shot, due to my immune System being very low.
I saw my O.D.S.P worker and put back on assistance, and through my trials of life, and low immune levels I was able to go distances to get emergency housing , I am now on the List as a priority. I had to go without money for whole month of June 2017
In a matter of two days my faith in God helped me rise up against the anguish of my trials and tribulations and succeed.
Please give me a hand and give me back the money I used for the Greyhound, so that I can become victorious in finding a apt and put a down payment on a place. I am still homeless and would appreciate your help.
Peace Be With You All B.C Assistance Welfare Offices, and Management .
