"Look what my husband bought for me," Lornie said during her meeting with her best friend, Josie. It was a brand-new diamond ring given to her by her husband, Ian during their first wedding anniversary. "How do you like it? It's our wedding anniversary gift."
"It's very beautiful," Josie replied, her eyes widened.
"What did Denzel get you for your anniversary?" Lornie continued. Hearing this, Josie did not know how to answer, as her husband, Denzel had never showered her with gifts.
"It doesn't matter," was all Josie had to say. She could not bring herself to tell her best friend that Denzel was physically and verbally abusive towards her, and that she constantly needed to cover up the bruises inflicted by him. They had just gotten married, but not long after their marriage, Denzel revealed his true colors. He was very controlling towards Josie. To add insult to injury, she recently found out that he was cheating on her with his female colleague when she saw them behaving intimately at a restaurant. Enraged, she confronted Denzel and flung a glass of water onto his face. He forcefully grabbed her by her hand and said menacingly, "Calm down. Go home, we'll talk when I return." When Josie returned home, she packed her bags, intending to leave Denzel. However, he suddenly appeared at the doorway with a bouquet of flowers and a gift box, asking for forgiveness. He then opened the gift box, which revealed a jewelry item. "These diamonds are for you," he said. Josie's eyes shone. It was the first time Denzel had given her such an expensive present. "What a strange necklace," she began. "It looks like a dog collar." However, this comment made Josie angry.
"You're only saying that because you envy me," she said angrily.
"Yeah, it's an electric dog collar. I'll show you," Lornie said. She then showed Josie her findings on Google, which revealed Josie's jewelry as an electric dog collar. "Denzel is a sadist. Run away from him," she warned. However, Josie refused to listen to Lornie's warning and accused her of being jealous. She then left in anger. However, it did not take long for her to realize that Lornie was right. One day, she and Denzel were at a dinner party. During the dinner, a man went up to Josie and chatted with her. As they were chatting, Josie suddenly felt an electric shock inside her, and it came from her jewelry. She looked up and saw Denzel smile wickedly at her, with a remote control in his hand. Enraged, she went up to him and confronted him.
"What do you think you are doing? Are you training me?" she asked angrily.
"You yourself wanted new jewelry, right?" Denzel said nonchalantly as he waved the remote control in his hand. "So deal with it." Hearing this, Josie was intent on divorcing the scoundrel of her husband, so when they got back, she packed her belongings. But Denzel blocked her way.
"Where are you going?" he asked menacingly.
"Lornie is right. You're crazy. I'm filing for divorce," Josie retorted.
"You're not going anywhere," Denzel said in a loud voice. He then pressed the buttons on the remote control, whichsent an electric shock in Josie and she lost consciousness. He then carried her to a cage. "Stupid dog," he muttered under his breath. "You belong in a dog kennel." He then locked the cage.
When Josie regained consciousness, she found herself locked in the dog kennel next to her house. "Denzel Ngai Tsun-yan, let me out. You're insane," she shouted as she banged onto the fencing of the kennel. Just then, Denzel appeared in front of her. "What do you want from me?" Josie shouted.
"Keep your mouth shut unless you want me to use electric shock again," Denzel said menacingly. "You're my property, Josie Fong Chor-kiu, and you're going to stay in the kennel until I let you out." Josie sat in the kennel in despair, but not long after, Lornie and Ian appeared in front of her.
"Hey, Josie, we'll free you," Lornie said. Ian used a bolt clipper to cut open the lock of the kennel and Lornie helped Josie on her feet. "Don't worry, Ian has already called the police. Denzel is already in police custody," Lornie said.
