4 p.m. has just passed. I rode my bike to the library, which is 5 km away. On the way, I saw people working in the land. The fields are lush and green. There is a sense of calm and serenity in the environment. People always feel peaceful and refreshed when they gaze into the greenery of a village. My vacation in this village has been long overdue, but now I have time to fit it in. Due to my father's work in abroad, we moved there. Occasionally, while on vacation, we will have the opportunity to visit this paradise. My nostrils literally tingle when I smell old books, and I love having them around. Thus, I visit the library.
Upon reaching the library, I parked my bike on the parking lot. A pink scooter is standing, and has the appearance of a brand new scooter. A flower garland is tied around the scooter. The scooter was enhanced with (sacred ash) vibuthi, sandalwood and kumkum. When we purchase a new vehicle in India, we first take it to the temple and perform some Pujas. It is done to ensure that a new vehicle will be harmonious with the house and prevent any future bad luck. It is a tradition that is very important since it shows gratitude to the god, protects the driver from misfortunes and accidents. It is my honour to respect all rituals and traditions. My belief is that rituals have a strong reason behind them. I was curious about the girl who brought her new scooter into the library.
My first impression of the library was that it had broken wood on the building, smashed windows, and torn blue curtains that were blowing in the wind. There was no one in the library and I was pleased about that. I enjoy readingin peace. The sound of bangles interrupted my search for psychological books. This must be the new scooter girl. My search for her led me to her. She was one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen. Her black salwar outfit was accompanied by a black eyeliner and black bangles. Her eyes widened when she saw me. Her first words were “Hai” and she asked about me. In response, I replied about myself and asked about her. Sameera is her name, as she said it.
As we begin to talk, the conversation moves forward. I never talk in the library, but today I couldn't concentrate on books because her eyes were so enthralling. During our conversation, a book fell from the shelf. The two of us went to see it. I said the book might have fallen away due to the wind. We have closed the windows. Later, however, the book dropped again. It shocked us. "It must be her," she said.
Who? I asked with suspense. "Once a girl now a spirit." Sameera said.
My question was "Spirit?".
Sameera begins the story of spirit, "Yes, there was a girl who worked here for many years. A book reading habit is something she wants to foster in the village. However, she died due to a rare disease. She will find peace in her spirit only if the people of the village adopt the habit of reading books."
Her words made me laugh hysterically. "This isn't a joke", she shouted I replied to sameeera, "I know people in the village make up stories like this all the time." The anger in her eyes is palpable. I have no idea how to convince girls. Nevertheless, I decided to listen to her as if I believed what she said. Suddenly, every book started falling one by one fromthe shelf for a couple of minutes. We were astonished. The lights went out. Chairs near the table started moving on their own. We were freaked out by it. As we made our way to the exit, we ran as fast as possible. However, the door was closed. We attempted to open it. Our efforts are in vain. The door finally opened after a while. As I rushed out, the door suddenly closed and Sameera was trapped inside.
I hit the door but I couldn't open it. A security guard rushed towards me and he began to scold me. "Why did you standing here. It was a haunted library." he shouted at me. "Yes sir, I know; A girl was stuck inside the library; Please help me to open the door."
What? Are you crazy? The library has been locked for a long time. Nobody can enter. The library is haunted by a spirit named Sameera." My heart sank as he said. I went to look for the scooter. It was not new as I had thought it to be. It was actually an old scooter covered in dust. Now I realized that Sammera wanted me to create the habit of reading books throughout the village. I told myself that I would do this within 2 months. As I was trying to start my bike I noticed a book named "Do It" inside the window!
