"Girls, look what I've got," Belinda said excitedly to her colleagues cum good friends Felicia and Giselle. "My dream is in this envelope. It's the golden ticket to a better life."
"What's in it?" Felicia asked. "Come on, open it," Giselle chipped in. Belinda opened the envelope and jumped with joy. "I did it, I sent my photos to a modelling agency, and they've invited me to the casting. I'm going to pass it and become a model," she said happily. "Congratulations, friend," Felicia said. However, Belinda suddenly changed. "Don't call me that," she snapped. "Models can't be friends with losers of a salesgirl. I'm going to have new friends now."
"That's very hurting," Felicia said with a stunned, hurt look. Just then, Giselle reappeared holding a mop and a pail. "Stop joking, girls," she said. "The workday is almost over. Let's clean up the place and go home."
"I'm not joking," Belinda said angrily. "I don't want to talk to you again. And clean up the place yourselves." With that, she kicked the pail containing water, and the contents spilled out, wetting the floor.
"Belinda Ching Po-kei, what do you think you're doing? You're still an employee here," Felicia said angrily. "Not anymore as of now," Belinda said condescendingly, with her hands on her hips. "I'm going to tell Ms Kam that I quit right now. And as for you, Felicia Yiu Suk-han and Giselle Leung Choi-dip, you'll stay here and clean the place, losers."
"But I thought we were friends," Giselle said. "Don't be so naive, I'm a beauty, and I've always been better than you, pathetic ugly losers. Farewell, losers," Belinda continued in her condescending voice and walked out of the boutique arrogantly.
A few days later, Belinda went for the casting as scheduled. There was another contestant named Rosiewho attended the same casting. Belinda was confident she would get the job, but to her disappointment, she was informed that Rosie got the job instead of her. "What?" Belinda exclaimed in shock. "What about me? I was certain I would win, and I even quit my job because of that. Now I have nothing to live on."
"I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do to help you at this point in time. However, we're looking for a janitor. Are you interested?" Hearing this, Belinda became enraged. "What? How dare you humiliate me like this?" she said angrily. "I'm sorry, but we have no other vacancies," the director said as she shrugged her shoulders. Belinda stood at the spot and became thoughtful. While she felt that being a janitor was humiliating, she had raked up 3 months of credit card bills due to her constant overspending, which would snowball unless she paid in full. She reluctantly accepted the job as the janitor. "Great, you can start tomorrow," the director said before walking off. "I need to go back to the boutique to pick up my stuff," Belinda thought to herself with seething anger. "What should I tell those losers, Felicia and Giselle?" Suddenly, she smiled. "I'll tell them I get the job, they'll be so jealous," she thought. Before she left, she furtively shot Rosie a look of contempt.
Belinda walked back to the boutique she used to work at, surprising Felicia. "Belinda, what are you doing here? Did you change your mind about quitting?" she asked.
"Are you kidding me? Why on earth would I return to this dumpster?" Belinda said arrogantly. "I got the job. I'm a model now. Sooner or later, I'll be a supermodel. I'll now grab my things and never return here." As she took herbelongings, Belinda continued in an arrogant tone, "Tomorrow I'll be doing a photoshoot for a popular makeup brand ad in a fashion magazine. I'll go prepare myself. And you'll stay in this dumpster forever, losers." With that, she gave an arrogant laugh and left the boutique, leaving Felicia and Giselle aghast at her capriciousness.
"How could Belinda change so fast?" Felicia wondered. Just then, Giselle saw Belinda's portfolio in the drawer. "Look, Belinda forgot her portfolio. We should return it to her," she said. "I don't want to see her," Felicia said indignantly. "Let's not be like Belinda," Giselle said. "We'll go to the photo studio and bring her her portfolio."
Meanwhile, at the photo studio, Belinda was doing her duties as a janitor, indignant that the director chose Rosie over her, citing that she was much prettier and more qualified. Just then, she saw Rosie pass by, talking on her mobile phone. "Honey, I'm on my way. Get me coffee with soy milk. Make sure they get the order right. I'm allergic to cow milk, remember," she said. As Belinda listened in on Rosie's phone conversation, an evil thought started forming in her mind. "Where are you going? I've just mopped the floor here," she shouted at Rosie. "I'm sorry, but I can't float above the floor," Rosie said apologetically. "You're nothing but a vile humna being," Belinda accused. "I should be in your place and you should be in mine."
"Belinda, the director chose me. Deal with it and accept defeat," Rosie tried to reason with Belinda, but to no avail.
"Huh, why on earth would I do that?" Belinda retorted. "I'll get you kicked out of here, ugly loser. You'll see." Belinda's rudeness left Rosie stunned and hurt, and she exited the photo studio in tears, bumping into Feliciaand Giselle on the way.
"Miss, what happened? Why are you crying?" Felicia asked with a look of concern.
"Our janitor Belinda insulted me," Rosie replied, with tears in her eyes. "She hates me and is always picking on me. But it's not my fault that they chose me over her."
"Belinda? Are you saying that she's a janitor instead of a model?" Giselle asked, her eyes widened.
"Yes, that's right. Belinda Ching Po-kei, that's her name. Do you know her?" Rosie asked.
"We do," Felicia replied. "She's capable of anything. We'll tell you about her." Rosie thanked them and left the photo studio. When she was a distance, Felicia and Giselle entered the photo studio, where they overheard Belinda's phone conversation.
"Mum, I'll get that flower vase Rosie Kong Sau-man fired and take her place as a model," Belinda boasted. "And she'll be mopping the floor instead of me. I'll lace her drink with an allergen and replace her in the photo shoot." Felicia and Giselle put their hands over their mouths, shocked by Belinda's viciousness. Due to her shock, Felicia accidentally dropped Belinda's portfolio onto the floor, which caused the latter to turn around.
"What...what are you doing here?" she asked, her eyes widened.
"You left your portfolio in the boutique," Felicia said, trying not to let Belinda know what she and Giselle had heard. Belinda picked up her portfolio, but instead of thanking Felicia and Giselle, she asked them to leave the photo studio, claiming that they would stain the place with their ordinary appearances.
As Felicia and Giselle exited the photo studio, Felicia whispered, "Did you hear what Belinda said just now? We should warn Rosie."
"But we don't have her contact number," Giselle replied, with a look of worry.
"Tomorrow I'll drop by before work and find her. Is it possible to coverfor me if Ms Kam asks where I am?" Felicia said firmly. Giselle agreed.
The next day, Rosie was preparing for her photo shoot when Belinda appeared with a package, saying that she dropped by Starbucks and bought coffee. She then offered to make coffee for everyone. Rosie thanked her and asked her to add soy milk into her coffee.
When everyone was not looking, Belinda furtively poured cow milk into the coffee meant for Rosie. She then brought the coffee cups containing coffee to everyone at the photo studio.
"This coffee is delicious," Rosie remarked as she took a sip from her coffee cup. "To be honest, Belinda, I didn't expect such a gesture from you."
"I've accepted my defeat and now, I'm happy for you," Belinda replied, hiding her vicious intent. Unaware of Belinda's viciousness, Rosie was heartened by the gesture. However, when Rosie resumed her photo shoot, rashes suddenly appeared on her face and body. "Rosie, what's going on with you?" asked the photographer. "There are rashes all over your body."
"Oh no," Rosie exclaimed in shock. "Belinda, did you use soy milk or cow milk?"
"I think I added cow milk," Belinda smirked. "Oh no, I'm allergic to cow milk," Rosie exclaimed again. "What do we do now?" asked the photographer with great consternation. Seizing this opportunity, Belinda suggested replacing Rosie for the photo shoot. "Looks like we have no other choice. Go change," said the photographer.
Rosie exited the photo studio in tears, when she saw Giselle walk towards her. "Oh no, I wanted to warn you," she said with a look of shock when she saw that Rosie's whole body was full of rashes. "Belinda was going to give you an allergic reaction."
"What?" Rosie exclaimed. "Are you saying she did that on purpose?" Suddenly, she calmed down."That's very despicable of her. I'm not going to let her get away with it," she said indignantly, with her arms folded. After getting prescription for allergic reaction from the doctor, Rosie went back to the photo studio, just in time to hear a senior colleague tell the director that she needed to leave early because of family commitment. Rosie offered to help cover her duties. The director agreed and gave her the keys to the photo studio.
When everyone left, Rosie opened the door for Felicia and Giselle, who had ended work and were waiting for everyone to knock off. She thanked them for helping her.
"Tell me, why do we sneak into this office?" Felicia said jokingly. "We need to find the chief editor's flash drive with the final layout of the magazine," Rosie said firmly. Just then, Giselle spotted a flash drive on the desk. "Looks like I found it," she whispered. Rosie booted up the computer on the chief editor's workdesk and loaded the flash drive onto the computer, where Belinda's photos during the earlier photo shoot were stored.
"Let's add a mop to the photos," Rosie suggested. "Agree," Felicia chipped in. "To make that witch stop acting like she is a somebody." "Now she's going to be the joke herself," Giselle said in between laughter.
The next day, Belinda appeared at the boutique she used to work at. "Hey, losers, are you looking at my magazine cover? I only come here to see how you envy my success. I haven't even seen the cover yet," she smirked. "Yeah, what a success. The mop really matches you," Giselle turned around and replied in a sarcastic tone. She and Felicia then laughed.
"What? What mop are you talking about, you losers," Belinda asked angrily. "Look," Felicia said and showed her thefront page of the magazine cover. It showed Belinda holding a mop and a rag cloth. She was enraged.
"What on earth is this?" she snapped. Suddenly, she was stunned. "Why am I holding a mop and a rag cloth?" she said, shock written all over her face. Just then, Rosie appeared at the boutique. "You wanted to ruin another person's life without punishment, didn't you?" she pointed an accusing finger at Belinda. "Well, you should know, there's a price to pay for everything."
A month later, Rosie met Felicia and Giselle outside the boutique after their work ahift ended. By that time, she had become friends with them. Felicia suggested going out for supper together, which both Rosie and Giselle agreed. Just then, Belinda appeared in front of them.
"Friends," she addressed them, but it was immediately met with disgust.
"Belinda, what are you doing here?" Felicia asked, not attempting to hide her contempt.
"I lost my job after tampering with Rosie's coffee. Not only that, I have been blacklisted by all modelling agencies in Hong Kong after this incident. Put in a word for me, I want my old job back," Belinda begged, albeit condescendingly.
"Friends?" Felicia shot back with a look of disgust. "If I'm not mistaken, you called us losers a few weeks ago."
"Deal with your problems yourself, Belinda," Giselle added angrily. With that, she left along with Felicia and Rosie, leaving Belinda alone with her condescension.
