In your mind, when you decide to buy a house, old or new, you never think that the walls are thin or thick, if the furniture is dangerous or harmful. If the floor might make crashing sounds at night. And, by choise, people stay away from weird houses, too many historic houses, or... haunted houses. You believe it's a house, that, of course, you bought. You spent a river of money, or you save your whole life to get your dream house... or apartment.

You might have so far lived in crappy, creepy, nasty, or small places. You may be shared, once or twice shared a place with an old lady as your landlord, in this all to save for a better place with a person you love the most.

You forgot, or think, scary houses are only fiction, pop culture, and nothing else. You might laugh if you listen to a weird noise at night and come back to sleep. You might do it all, but never underestimate the power of the old and "self-absorbed" furniture.

Chapter I

Frank Ross is just a newcomer to the city, more like a city, since he lives in an old village in the middle of nowhere. Trying to find his place in the world, he was absorbed by the powers he couldn't understand totally. Loving horror fiction, he collected all kinds of stuff he could find around the world. And finally, he found the perfect job to sustain his avid taste.

He graduated in Journalism from the Instituto Politecnico de Lisboa; he wrote a thesis about spooky stories and their myths, "The origins of the myth behind the terror." It wasn't brilliant, but he got some fans of his works and small journals published online on his website "www.mythbehindthespookie.com." He graduated at 27 and soon got a
job offer to work as a spooky stories collector in the cities of Sofia and Bucharest.

He is an American-Portuguese born, now 34, living in Sofia for over 8 years and has collected tons of weird stories and myths about the Balkans. He thinks to buy an apartment soon with some of the money he collected. His economic status was never an issue for him, but he wanted to be independent of his parents, and so he was working hard to earn his coin-pig savings. His articles made the magazine "Spooky Myths" skyrocket, by not only telling the tale but also by making an intense background check over every inch of the places. Every drop of blood and tears, every word said, and every detail of the emotions felt in the ecstasy of the moment. The pleasure felt by the protagonist and the pain of the victims. And of course, the aftermath. Cold cases brought the mystery turned on to the gasps of the read, the true and strong-stomach ones.

- "Oh, the dark on them is strong within; the depths of the human brain are darker than a dark room." - He says.

Frank had the chance to camp or sleep in the spots of the weird and macabre tales that happened there, within some walls, dark rooms, red rooms, and got the depths of their inside. He, himself becomes aware he is darker and with weird and dark thoughts. Something deep in his nature woke up. Some just wish that deep and hidden dark nature never gets awakened; others just welcome it and grasp it and let it come to see the light of the day.

He believes that magic is just magic, and it is neither good nor dark, but the one we seek throughout in our depths.

Seeking the occultism as
a small escape, he came across the darker tales of all time around the cities, and the darker got the cold cases, the more he wanted to touch their secrets. And there was a case that he was researching for over 2 years.

Strange disappearings were becoming strangely noticeable around, and a peculiar building owner that was not eager to take his precious one-hundred years old water-tower down. With a very weird and appealing price rent and a landlord of your dreams, until the very end. It was a water tank in the past and became his home because after the communism time, some of the Water-Towers were taken down or converted to residential places, due to the skyrocketing prices of rent and the Real Estate industry price tag. Then, there was Mr. Yordonov. In this case, he refused to give a hand of his precious childhood place. It was always a special place for him. The walls of the tower were converted into shelves and drawers to store different things.

His parents, in their will, made him keep the promise.

"To our precious and only dearest son,

This tower set a heavy burden over us to keep its survival over the other Water towers destroyed. The price keeps its magic to be forever still, requires human and heavy sacrifice to satisfy its selfishness and dark deed. The Tower is alive, and the walls can eat you alive if you don't do your part of the bargain. Within these walls are the remains of the first owners and the owner next and next. And with it, more five-hundred human remains and counting. When we die, place let us be the last price we pay because the tower promises to bring us honour by becoming two more shelves on top. But our death is not
the last part of the deal. The Tower needs to be fed with new supplies. The rats are no meat for Him. Serve him well, and He will be your keeper. Offend him or betray Him, and you will be turned into a stone in the ground to be stepped on.

Stay pure and stay safe,

With love,

Vasco and Tanya Yordonova"
