Jack was driving along a lone road towards the highway after attending a banquet. It was already late at night and he could not wait to go home. "Come on, just a few more kilometres to the highway," he muttered.
Suddenly, a figure appeared on the road in front of him. Jack had to swerve his car to avoid hitting her. He then got out of the car and confronted the figure, a woman in white and with long flowing hair.
"What's wrong with you? Are you out of your mind?" he shouted.
"I'm sorry, Sir. I didn't think I'd scare you," she said sheepishly. Jack got back into his car and prepared to continue his way back home, but to his dismay, he saw that his car had run out of fuel. He turned to the woman angrily.
"Thanks to you, I need to spend the night on the streets. What am I supposed to do now?" Jack said angrily. The woman apologised profusely, but told him he did not need to spend the night on the streets. She then told him about a small town nearby, where she lived. She then offered to bring him there. Jack had no choice, so he followed the mysterious woman. When asked whether he could stay at her place for the night, the woman said "No", but gave him an address and left promptly, but not before Jack thanked her and told her to be careful on the road.
Jack went to the address the woman provided. He knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Thinking that the woman had taken him for a ride, Jack was about to leave. But after a while, he turned back, as he needed a place to stay for the night. He opened the door and walked intothe house. "Hi, is anyone here?" Jack called out. Still, there was no answer. Suddenly, he saw a young lady in her 20s lay on the couch in the living room. She was unconscious. Jack sprinkled some water onto her face to wake her up. Fortunately, the lady opened her eyes after a while. Jack then gave her a glass of water. The lady was surprised to see a stranger in her house. She asked Jack who he was and how he had gotten into her house. When the lady became fully conscious, Jack told her everything that had happened to him. She offered to put him up for the night
Jack spent the whole night talking to the lady in the kitchen. From there, he found out that the lady's aunt had passed away a month ago, and she had been struggling to cope with the loss. She added that her aunt, who had raised her since the death of her parents, was like a family member to her. She then thanked Jack for saving her. "Maybe it's destiny," he remarked.
The lady felt that Jack could be trusted and decided to show him something personal. She took out a photo album and offered to show him photos of her aunt. Jack agreed. But he became shocked when the lady showed him a photo of her aunt, whom he recognised as the woman whom he had encountered on the lone road he was driving on earlier. "Are you saying she passed away?" Jack asked in disbelief. "But it was her who gave me this address." Now it was the lady's turn to be shocked. "What?" she exclaimed. Jack insisted that he was certain it was her, as she had stopped his car. The lady realized that her aunt's spirit hadsaved her life, although she wondered about the possibility of supernatural phenomenons.
Jack could not explain the coincidence. The next morning, Jack left the lady's house after having managed to refill the gas for his car and continued his way home. But he could not stop thinking about what happened the previous night. Before he went home, he stopped by the gas station to get some breakfast. As he was eating, he became shocked by what he heard from other drivers. They were talking about an accident that had happened the previous night, which happened at the exact time when Jack would have been driving on that stretch of highway. Jack then realized that the ghost of the woman had not only saved his life, but also her niece's life, and his life would never be the same. Since then, Jack started seeing the lady whom he saved more often, and it marks the start of a relationship.
