It was 1993, i was aged 17, back in my college day's. On a warm evening a group of us enjoying the view on top of a hill top, gazing over at the woodland area surrounding the hill. In the far distance the sun light shines bright down at the lit up building's in town. Further away in the distance the still waters at the docks surrounding luxurious yachts, large boat's and small boat's. My friend's and i puff away on our cigarette's, a small bottle of diamond white in our other hands. Joking and laughing amongst eachother. I turn to my friend Rosanne whom is wearing a winter's coat, she never takes it off, ever. you would have to remove it from her when she's past out from drinking too much, even then she would wake briskly from her slumber to push you away from taking it off her.

I say "Rosanne, come on have a drink with us." She grips her coat shut, like she's freezing and replies, " I don't feel like drinking tonight!" As I reply "come on, it might warm you up." My other friend's and I giggle, in the distance behind us, group of cars coming fast around a corner, then towards us. They come to a halt and the drivers park up next to eachother. I excitedly call out, "finally their here, let the fun begin!" I throw down my cigarette. My friend Jake whom looks like he's 12 but he's 18 calls out, "I can't wait to do this! My car is fully fuelled and ready to go."

The drivers exit their cars, stroll cheerfully towards my friends and I. I call out to one of them whom is called David, he's a lot older than us, very good looking. "About time, I thought you wasn't coming." He stands tall infront of me, eyeing me up and down and replies, " I'm here now foxy lady." That was his nick name for me when talking over the CB. I reply, "who is the fox tonight?"

Another young guy strolls over as he over hears, and says "I am." I gaze at him with excitement and says, "I look forward to hunting you down!" He smirks and replies, "you can't catch me, I'm too fast, no one has yet and never will." My friend friend Jake jumps in and replies, " there's always a first time." The guy glares at Jake, he replies with a chuckle, " I didn't know we allow children here." Jake leans forward staring right at him, he replies, " ha, ha I'm no child, I certainly don't drive like a child. Let's start shall we, il show you." The guy laughs and turns away, as he strolls towards his car he calls out, " bye bye children." David smirks, he turns as he says " see you soon foxy lady!" The drivers enters their cars, starting up their engines. Jake turns to my two friends and I and says," let the fox hunt begin." We excitedly follow Jake to his car. As I sit inside I gaze out of the window, the cars raving their engines. Our fox leaves first, speeding around the corner, going far and far away. My friends and I excitedly giggling. we place our bottles onto the floor of the car. Jake starts reving the engine. All the other cars and ours pull away fast chasing the fox, the adrenaline is thriving through us.

Jake speeding up the road and around corners. Our communication with other's are on the cb. I pick it up from the dash board and speak into it excitedly. "This is foxy lady, any eyes on the fox?" My friend David answers," this is Jd, I hear he's heading for Colemans road, I'm on it." I turn to Jake and say "you heard JD, put your foot down." I speak into the CB. "were right behind you JD." David smirks and jokingly replies,"I wish I was right behind you right now foxy lady!" I reply " in your dreams baby."

I place the CB back down onto the dashboard. My friend Jake is driving so fast, we're sliding in our seats, holding on to the door, Speeding around the quiet back roads, coming up to a sharp bend, crash. The loud noise from crashing into a home owner's front wall has startled them, they come rushing out to our aid. our heads got pushed forward then back against the seat, I'm in pain in my neck. A tall, friendly lady in her late sixties come rushing out to open the car doors. My two friend's rubbing the back of their heads, shocked at what happened, I look over at my friend Jake some blood from his nose, where his face took impact from the air bag. i ask, " are you okay, Jake?" the lady stood looking in at us. " Are you all OK?" She asks worryingly. I reply in a trembling manner, " I'm okay!" voices from the back seats, my friends answer's" I'm OK. " I look at the wall, the car took out some bricks. Jake turns to the lady in a frantic and apologetic manner, "I'm so sorry!" The lady replies in a heart-warming manner, "don't worry about the wall, I hope your all OK." Her response to our accident shocked me more than the accident it self, back then I was a kid, 17 and stupid.

I open the front door to my parent's home, I step inside, my worried parent's stand before me. My father gazes at me worryingly as he says, " what time do you call this?" I look up at my parent's, still in shock by the accident, I tremble while I reply, " sorry! we were in an accident." My parent's stand either side of me taking hold of my arm's to comfort me, my mother shocked and worryingly replies, " accident, what happened? Are you okay?" My father snaps frantically, " accident what the hell happened to you?" In a tired voice, I reply, " our car went into a wall, I'm OK, I'm just tired I want to go to bed." My father snaps sharply in his voice, "a wall, you should get checked over?" I stumble towards the stairs, leaving my parent's confused at the bottom, I slowly walk up as I say, " I'm fine dad, I just want to sleep."

The next day my friend Jake, calls me on the telephone, I pick up and answer,"hi Jake, I don't want to come out with you any more, I'm sorry! I can't." Jake snaps angrily, " what do you mean you don't want to come out with me anymore? It was an accident." I replied, I know it was, it was a stupid, horrific accident, I don't want to see you anymore. "

Jake shouts down the phone," I love you, I want to be your boyfriend, don't do this to me!" I hung up the phone, I walked away towards the living room. That was the last time I heard from him, last of the fox hunt.

A thrilling and nostalgic ride! The rush of adventure, the crash, and the bittersweet ending were beautifully captured. A powerful story of youth, recklessness, and realization! 🚗🔥
