Fresh air from the mountains above.
Is this the place they will find true love? Nestled in what is known to many as the prettiest town ever. (Aries), Del and Charles were about to meet. Flowers neatly on every table-top of the cafe. Fresh baked goods lingered in the air.
Two individuals from two different worlds were about to start their first day on the job at a local grocery shop.
Charles was well-groomed, shiny brown hair, eyes of misty green. Del couldn’t take her eyes off of him. (either could the other cashiers) Every coffee break or lunch break that Del could take when Charles did, was the hope of really getting to know him.
Charles was a young butcher that had lived in Row. He was well-known and ran a beautiful shop. With hearing that, the owner of the Paris store traveled down to meet him. After seeing his store and meeting with him a few times. Charles was offered a job in the grocery store, with a bigger wage.
Looking to be adventurous and make new roots he couldn’t wait to make the move.
Del was finishing her final year of Computer College. Needing the extra money, she was so excited to get the cashier job.
It wasn’t love at first sight for Charles. When it came to Del, she couldn’t take her mind off of him. Charles would only walk by her or crack a joke and Del felt real true butterflies.
Del’s parents had Charles over at their home quite often for dinner. They all belonged to the local Hockey Association. It was no surprise for Del not to walk into the house and there he was. Showing no signs of wanting to date her, Del started going out now and again. She enjoyed having a good time but never really met anybody.
On one of her dates, Charles was at the house. Del was truly dressed up, her long wavy blonde hair was elegantly pinned up with curls coming down.
Her shiny blue dress had a split right down the side of the leg, her make-up was perfected. Walking into the dining room, Charles's eyes just lit up like never before. With the look on his face and the comment, “you look so beautiful”. Del felt great when she left.
Del’s date like many was just okay, a quiet and long-drawn night out.
Meeting different people, not anything in common with the guy. When he walked her to the door, a kiss on the side of her face, he was gone.
Putting her key into the door, Del jumped! Charles was opening the door for her. Standing there looking at him she didn’t know what to say. They went into the sitting room and sat and talked and shared their passions of traveling. They later had realized how they both wanted to travel to the west coast of Canada and go camping.
Just before leaving Charles asked Del to the Hockey “Valentines Dance”. “She couldn’t wait”. Del was waiting by the door in a slim glowing beige dress, this time her hair was hanging down. Nervously she opened the door (knowing she was even having stronger feelings). Charles came in and gave her a beautiful red rose.
They danced and danced, every time he held her close, Del never wanted to let him go. The slow dances were amazing as she snuggled tightly in his masculine arms. They joked and laughed and talked to others, yet in Del’s mind, she was the only one there with him.
Del was full of excitement as Charles walked her back to the door. Waiting for what she thought would be the best kiss ever. A hug.
Del had taken on a good job for a large computer company. Working shift work and not being home much. Seeing less of Charles.
After a month went by she decided to take a day for herself and get away and do some long hard thinking. Bent down and just about ready to take off and ski, there stood Charles. Was it by chance or by fate, the two of them just meeting? Well, it didn’t matter. Del knew the trails really well, she started off first and finally, Charles caught up with her.
Finally, they stopped and took some amazing photography of the wildlife. When the evening came they cuddled by a fire. Snuggled beside each other they sipped on warm hot apple cider and ate the best hot dogs ever.
The days to follow consisted of dinner dates, swimming at the gym, and several types of adventures.
Del told Charles she loved him. Determined to know if Charles loved her.
Del finally asked Charles to go with her and travel to the mountains. He couldn’t wait to go.
Taking turns driving while one was sleeping, they made it to the mountains in three days. Laughing and having the time of their lives all the way there. (now this is really how you get to know someone).
From climbing to the top of the glaciers, canoeing in one of the most beautiful lakes ever.
Waking the next morning Charles told her he was taking her somewhere that he knew she would love.
He was totally right. “The Gondola”. Climbing up the mountain in the gondola, Charles reached for Del’s hand. He turned to her, and he kissed her softly on her lips and said I love you. His time with her, being apart only made him love her more. Caught up in a moment, the gondola just kept going up and down.

When it did reach the ground, Charles kissed Del and whispered in her ear. (only the best is yet to come)
