Brian is a rich kid who always bullied other kids in school. As his parents, the influential Donald and Miley had the school authorities under their payroll, his bullying of other students often go unpunished. There were also some non-corrupt school authorities who tried to discipline Brian, but would get marginalized. As such, his behaviour became worse. "Do you know who my parents are? Be a good kid," Brian often told his victims. Other students avoided him when they saw him, knowing that most school authorities would be on Brian's side due to his parents' influence.

One day, Brian had an altercation with Logan, a fellow student. The latter had refused to give his watch to Brian, as it was a gift to him from his younger sister, Rebecca. As such, during the altercation, he pushed Logan off the building. Fortunately, there were a group of students who were picking up litter in the school field, and they had a trolley in handy. Logan landed on the trolley, which saved his life. However, he sustained a fractured leg, and would need to walk with a limp for the rest of his life. Logan and his family subsequently pressed charges against Brian for attempted murder and as such, the latter was brought to trial. Some students, who had witnessed the altercation between Brian and Logan, testified against Brian in court. However, the presiding judge Warner, who was under Donald and Miley's payroll, simply dismissed the case as an accident resulting from rough play, and as such, Brian was only sentenced to a fine. Once the court was dismissed, Logan, together with Rebecca and their parents, Clive and Melissa confronted Brian alongside Donald and Miley. Without a shred of remorse, Brian mocked Logan for his limp, which angered Melissa, who wanted to hit
him, but Miley stopped her. "The Court has already sentenced Brian to a fine. What more do you want from him?" Miley asked.

"You're both parents too, have you no conscience?" Melissa shouted. "Come on," Miley said nonchalantly. "My son's just a kid. He'll know better when he grow up. What's more, your son is still alive, isn't he?" Upon hearing those words, Melissa lunged at Miley and wanted to attack her, but Clive, Logan and Rebecca held her back. "Dear, no point fighting with this kind of people. Later we'll get charged." Clive advised. He then angrily pointed a finger at Donald, then at Miley, and last but not least, at Brian, before angrily warning them, "Your time will come. We'll see to that." With that, he led his family away. Donald and Miley, however, simply laughed off Clive's warnings as empty threats. "What can commoners like them do to us?" Donald smirked.

Years passed since the incident. Brian, now an adult, was in remand and due to appear in court. He had used force against a lone young woman while getting her to give him her mobile phone, and attempted to take advantage of her. Fortunately, this was stopped by a couple, a middle aged Indian man named Bala and his wife, Rani, both of whom happened to pass by. They reported the incident to the police, who arrested Brian immediately. Due to the nature of his crime, he was refused bail. Brian's trial would take place in 2 days' time, and Bala and Rani were due to testify against him in court. When Donald and Miley visited Brian in remand together with his lawyer, Bruce, they told him that one of the prosecuting lawyers was Rebecca Lam Hiu-sum, the younger sister of the very Logan whom he had caused
to walk with a limp back then, but Brian was unfazed.

"She's just a small fry, just like her brother Logan Lam Hiu-kwong. She can't possibly send me behind bars," he smirked. "But if the witnesses really appear in court and testify, you'll go to jail," Miley said worriedly. Hearing this, Brian started to worry. "What do I do now? I can't go to jail," he asked. "Don't worry, as long as we have the money and power, we can get you out unscathed," Donald replied.

During the court hearing, Bruce and Rebecca each presented their arguments to the presiding judge Sophia. Bruce verbally attacked Danielle, the female victim whom Brian hit and tried to take advantage of during that fateful day, but Rebecca successfully rebutted his arguments. She then summoned the witnesses, Bala and Rani to Court. Just then, her legal assistant appeared and whispered something into her ear.

"Your Honour, the witnesses Bala Kumaran and Rani have been uncontactable since this morning. We're still trying to locate them," Rebecca announced. As such, Brian's case had to be adjourned to the next day, while Judge Sophia gave 24 hours for Rebecca to locate the witnesses. Hearing this, Brian, who was seated at the dock, let out an evil grin.

The next day, Brian appeared in court again. When asked whether the witnesses had been found, Rebecca suddenly summoned the witnesses Bala and Rani to court. The entrance was opened and Bala and Rani entered, covered in bruises and escorted by 6 police officers. The couple testified against Brian. Together with irrefutable evidence and due to his lack of remorse, he was convicted and sentencing would take place at a later date. Upon hearing this, Brian shouted expletives at Judge Sophia, and demanded to file an appeal before being led away, while Donald
and Miley broke down.

Just then, police officers arrived and placed Donald, Miley and Bruce under arrest. It turned out that while searching Bala and Rani's house for clues to their whereabouts, they found a hidden mobile phone. It had recorded the couple being abducted from their house by 3 thugs while they were on their way to Court. As all the 3 thugs had criminal records, it was not hard to track them down. The police arrested all the 3 thugs, who were about to kill Bala and Rani. Upon questioning, the 3 thugs confessed that Donald, Miley and Bruce had hired them to get rid of Bala and Rani so that they would not be able to testify against Brian in court, and that Brian was also in on the plan. After Donald and Miley's arrest, Brian's attempted murder against Logan from many years back was being re-opened, and Judge Warner, who had presided over his case back then, was also arrested. As such, on the day of sentencing, Brian was sentenced to 20 years in prison, while Donald, Miley, Bruce and Judge Warner were each sentenced to 15 years in prison. Upon hearing the verdict, Rebecca let out a smile of victory, and so did Logan and Danielle.

After the case was concluded, Danielle offered to treat Rebecca and Logan to lunch. It turned out that after the attack, Danielle had been suffering from nightmares, and so when she hired Rebecca to defend her case, she pointed out her condition, and Rebecca referred her to Logan, who is now a therapist. With Logan's help, Danielle gradually overcome her fear, and the frequency of her nightmares decreased until she no longer had nightmares. As time passed, Logan and Danielle developed feelings for each other, and they started dating, putting their
past nightmare with Brian and his family behind them for good.
