Star a seventeen year old girl wakes up in her bedroom, teenager posters of her favourite band coldplay spread out all over on her bedroom wall. She walks over to her mobile that's placed on charge on a dressing table. She presses some buttons and her favourite song a sky full of stars starts playing as loud as she can get it to blare out. She's full of energy and starts getting ready for college. A loud shout "turn that music down," coming from her mother that stands at the bottom of the stairs. Star turns the volume down and heads to the kitchen where her parents are eating a cooked breakfast. Star walks over to the toaster to make some toast, her father looks up from the small table where he's sat as says "Star,, I'm surprised your not deaf from playing that music loud." Star smile's and replies "dad did you say something I did'nt quite hear you." She starts giggling as her father replies, "funny and smart like your mother." Her mother replies, "as my mother said I became a comedian when I said I was marrying you dear." Star laughs loudly and says," Mum that's funny and harsh." Her father replies, "that's funny love, I love you too." His wife reaches for his hand from the opposite side of the table
gently cradling it with hers as she replies, "I love you too." Star screws her face up and says, "Wait till I leave the house please, then get a room." Star finishes making the toast and takes a bite. Her mother looks up and says "star, have you picked a colour you want for your prom dress? We can go shopping this weekend." Star picked up her rucksack from the floor next to the table, and replies, "I don't know if I want to go, I have no-one asking me to be their plus one. I will be the only one there without a partner. Even Tracy has a partner and she's got braces in her mouth."
Her mother stands from the table and hugs her daughter as she replies, "forget men, if no-one has ask for you to go with them that's their loss. This is your last time at college and there won't be another prom, you don't want to regret it." Star replies, "okay, we're look for a dress, I will go." Her mother smiles and stands back from her as she replies, "how exciting looking for a beautiful prom dress for our beautiful daughter." Star replies as she storms out of the kitchen, "your funny and blind mum."
Her parents call out loudly from the kitchen, "goodbye," her father calls out "have a good day."
Star walks into the college, students scattering the corridors. A voice calls out from down the corridor from her friend Tracy.
"Star, over here." Star storms up the corridor towards her friend. "Hi Tracy, have you picked out a dress for the prom? Im going this weekend with my mum to pick one out."
Tracy smiles, showing her braces as she replies, "I thought you was'nt going, yes I have got my dress, I have picked out a lilac one." Star replies cheerfully, "that's lovely, I have decided to go after hearing my mother go on about it. Maybe I should wear a multi coloured one, as I feel like a joke anyway, no-one has asked to go with me." Tracy replies, "you haven't shown your over Jason, it's been five months. Your not setting off a vibe that your single again." Star replies jokingly "what vibe do you want, do I spread my arms out to every single guy and lift up my breasts." Tracy replies, "that would be a start, I don't think the holding out your arms out is necessarily." Stars ex boyfriend walks past her with a couple of his friends at his side, Jason turns and says, "morning star." He walks off leaving her breathless and speeches. Tracy looking confused asks curiously, "I don't know why you both split up, you both are single and obviously not over eachother. Why did you both split up?" Star feeling upset replies, "he split up with me, because he needed to concentrate on his studies and his dad needed him to help out more at his garage. It doesn't matter im over him." Star storms off leaving Tracy behind and tracy shakes her head no as if to say in silence star is not over him.
Star and her mother walks in to a dress shop that's in a large shopping centre, star's mother more excited than star calls out, " look at these beautiful dresses." Star looking glum replies, "very beautiful." A tall lady walks over to them and asks in a friendly manner, "Hello ladies, can I assist you." Stars mother proudly replies, "yes, we're looking for a prom dress." The lady replies, "do you have a particular colour in mind?" Star gazing around the shop floor replies, "turquoise please." Her mother replies "that sound's lovely, your birth sign colour. Do you have a turquoise dress?" The lady replies, "we have two in stock." Sky turns and faces the shop doors, she sees Jason walking past with one of his mates, he too noticed sky as he walked past. The lady brings two dresses over to sky and says, "I hope these too will be of your liking, your a size ten are you not." Sky replies, "yes that's right, where do I go to try them on?" The lady points to the corner of her shop and says "over there, let me know if you would like more assistance." Star took hold of the dresses and politely replies, " thankyou."
Star enters her class the following Monday, Jason walks in soon after. He walks over to her and says, "Hello, star. I saw you in the shop. Your going to the prom then?" Star replies cheerfully, "yes I am. Are you going to the prom? Have you got a date for the prom?" Jason replies, "I am going, no I don't have a date, we'll not yet." Star looks disappointed and replies, "what do you mean not yet, do you have a girl in mind?" Jason smiles at star and replies, "I do have a girl in mind, I hope she would say yes." Star replies, "I didn't think you was seeing someone, I hope your very happy together." Jason snaps cheerfully, "it's you star, it's always been you. I have been an idiot letting you go. Will you go to the prom with me?" Star replies, "I am wearing a multi coloured dress, I thought I would be different." Jason replies "you can wear a black rubbish bag and you would still look beautiful to me." Star nervously replies "are you asking me back out?" Jason replies emotionly, "I am, if you want to." Star replies, "yes, I will go back out with you. Pick me up at seven, I hope you like the multi coloured dress." Jason replies, "seven it is, I look forward to seeing the multi coloured dress. I thought you would be joking." Jason walks over to a desk Tracy walks into the room and noticed the flushed cheeks on stars face, "Hello star, are you okay?" Star happily replies, "I am now, Jason has asked me to go to the prom with him." Tracy replies relieved, "about time he asked you back out. I hope he doesn't let you down again." Star thinks for a moment and replies, "I hope he doesn't."
Jason arrives at stars house, he nervously knocks on the door, stars father opens it widely and says, "good evening Jason, come in." Jason enters the house and replies, "thank you, Mr paisley." Stars mother enters the hallway stands next to her husband and gazes at Jason with a smile. "Hello Jason, lovely to see you again." Jason replies, "hello Mrs paisley. It's lovely to see you too." Stars father asks curiously, "How have you been? It's been a long time since we saw you last." Jason replies, "I have been okay, I have been helping my father out at the garage." Stars mother replies cheerfully, "he's lucky to have a son so helpful. Star won't be long, would you like to wait in the living room?" Star calls down loudly from her room, "I'm ready now. I'm coming down." Stars parents and Jason excited and waits patiently at the bottom of the stairs. They all look up as star turns a corner and appears at the top of the stairs wearing an elegant long off the shoulder, turquoise prom dress. Her hair tied back into a bun, Jason looking gobsmacked and lost for words, can't believe his eyes. Star glides down the stairs, her parents looking proud. Her father says proudly, "you look beautiful star." Star faces him at the bottom of the stairs and replies cheerfully, "thank you dad." Her mother kisses her cheek trying not to smudge stars make up. Star faces Jason and says, "Hello." Jason taking in every moment staring at her beauty. "Hello, you do look beautiful star. Where's the multi coloured dress?" Stars parents are confused. Star replies, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, the multi coloured dress was taken." Jason happily replies, "I have missed your sense of humour, I have missed you star." Her parents smiles and her father snaps cheerfully "don't be late, you two must get going." Star gives her parents a kiss on their cheeks saying goodbye, she walks towards the front door in her turquoise high heels. Jason follows behind after saying goodbye to stars parent's. Stars father stands at the front door watching them walk towards a black limousine. He calls out loudly, "have star back at one, no later." Jason turns and replies, "I will I promise."
Jason and star walks over the back of the limousine, the driver stands wearing a suit and hat, opening the door for them. Star feeling like a princess steps in excitedly.
Jason and star enters the college hall, music playing in the background, students' scattered all around the room, some dancing, some at the side of the hall sitting down talking amongst eachother. Everyone turns and faces the couple, mesmerised by star, looking beautiful in her dress. Tracy and her boyfriend storms towards them. Tracy smiles and says, "wow, star you look beautiful." She faces Jason and says, "you don't look too bad, don't upset my friend again." Jason replies, "I was stupid, I'm not going to be letting go of star again for as long as she want's me that is." Star replies, "let's dance, then I will see if I still want you after seeing your dance moves." Jason escorts her to the middle of the dance floor, they dance to the music, glaring into eachothers eye's. Jason cheekily asks, "what do you think of my dance moves so far?" Star cheekily replies, " so far so good, you might pass." Jason takes hold of star and says in a loving manner, "I'm happy and so pleased you said yes to having me back, I am serious, I don't want to let you go again star." Star replies,,"are you going to stand there and just stare like I have something on my face, or are you going to kiss me?" Jason replies, "I'm going to kiss you." He slowly eases his way towards star, he romantically takes hold of her petite waist. They smooch romantically for a brief second. They continue to dance. Star feels even more excited when she hears her favourite song appear over the speaker, a sky full of stars from her favourite band. Jason smiles "I hope you don't mind I put a song request in for my girlfriend? " Star replies, "this is the best night ever."
