Dennis is a successful man with a prestigious job. He is married to his wife Becky and they had 2 children, Ann and Frank. Ann had just entered kindergarten while Frank was about to start nursery.
One day, the turning point came when Dennis and Becky had a fight while the former was driving home. Becky was berating Dennis for their inability to go for vacation during year-end. Despite Dennis trying to explain that he was rather busy with work and that he could not spend all his time entertaining her, Becky still blamed him, and said that she would find a lover if he was too busy. Dennis looked at Becky in shock. He could not believe those words came from his wife.
Suddenly, Dennis was confronted by blinking lights. He tried to swerve his car, but could not avoid the accident. When he woke up, he found himself in the hospital, whereby a nurse named Cindy told him that his legs were injured during the car accident and he would need to use a wheelchair for the time being. Despite this, Dennis refused to give in to despair, citing that the children were waiting for him at home. Throughout his hospitalisation, Becky never visited him. Whenever he asked her if she would drop by at the hospital, she would claim that she was busy. To make matters worse, Dennis' company started incurring losses during his hospitalisation, and the company had become bankrupt. As such, all the employees were laid off, and Dennis too was left without a job.
When Dennis was discharged from the hospital, he saw that Becky's suitcases had been packed. "Dennis Kwong Kwan-ho, let me tell you. I'm not going to confine myself in taking care of an invalid like you. I've been having an affair before youraccident and I'm leaving you and the kids for a better life," she said without a tinge of remorse. Despite Ann and Frank pleading with her to stay, Becky still took her luggage and headed for the door, not once looking back. Dennis broke down in despair, but Ann patted him on his shoulders. "You still have me and Frank," she said. This made Dennis more hopeful, and he resolved to persevere for Ann and Frank.
Dennis decided to turn to Cindy, who had been looking after him during his hospitalisation, for help. When she visited him, she not only helped him with the children and housework, but she also accompanied him for his physiotherapy sessions. With Cindy's help, Dennis started to recover the use of his legs, and it did not take long for him to be able to walk again. During this time, he realized he had developed feelings for Cindy, which was mutual. Dennis also started a new business, which was more profitable than his previous one. He also married Cindy soon after, with blessings from Ann and Frank.
2 years had passed after the incident. The Kwong family were preparing to celebrate Chinese New Year with a new addition, as Cindy is now pregnant. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Dennis opened the door, and much to his shock, it was Becky. She looked old for someone her age. Apparently, the years had not been kind to her. Becky started pouring forth about how her lover was a cheat, and that he had swindled her out of all her money, and she now had to work part-time to earn a living. She then tried to enter the house, begging to start over, but Dennis blocked her way. He told her that while he was sorry thatthings did not work out for her, he could no longer get back together with her. He then showed her the wedding ring on his finger, telling him that he is now married and the kids already had a mother who treated them like her own. He then added that he would let the kids know about her, but it would be up to them whether they want to reconnect with her. As Becky left in shame, Dennis closed the door behind her, returning to his loving family.
